Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to the Zenitude on rue Sainte Anne, I wasn’t expecting much from the exterior. It’s tucked into this quiet residential street that you’d probably walk past without noticing, but that actually turned out to be one of its biggest selling points. The neighborhood has this authentic Bordeaux feel that you just don’t get when you’re staying right in the tourist center, and honestly, the lack of foot traffic means you’ll actually sleep through the night.

What really surprised me was how much space you get here – I mean, we’re talking proper apartment-style setups with kitchenettes that actually work (I made coffee every morning and even attempted some pasta one evening with ingredients from the little Monoprix around the corner). The rooms feel lived-in rather than hotel-sterile, which I know sounds like a backhanded compliment, but I actually mean it in the best way possible. There’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that doesn’t feel like it was designed by a committee. The Wi-Fi is solid, the shower pressure is better than my apartment back home, and you know what? The air conditioning actually keeps up with those brutal July afternoons when Bordeaux turns into a furnace. I will say the walls aren’t the thickest – you might hear your neighbors if they’re having a particularly animated conversation – but it’s nothing worse than your average city apartment.

The real genius of this place is the location, though you won’t realize it immediately. Sure, you’re about a fifteen-minute walk from the main action around Place de la Bourse, but here’s the thing – you’re literally two minutes from Gare Saint-Jean, which means day trips to the wine regions are stupidly easy. Plus, there’s this fantastic little boulangerie called Du Pain et des Idées just down the street (okay, it’s actually a few streets over, but close enough) where locals line up every morning. The tram stop is right there too, so getting around the city is actually more convenient than staying in the old town where everything’s pedestrian-only and your Uber driver inevitably gets lost in those medieval streets. I ended up loving the evening walk back from dinner – you get to see how Bordeaux locals actually live, away from all the wine bar crowds and tourist menus. For a 3-star place, it punches well above its weight, and that 8/10 rating makes total sense once you settle in for a few days.

  • Great place wrong area. – Barrie from United Kingdom – 1 July 2025 (8/10)

    Very nice apartment. Excellent staff

What could be improved: Area was a bit rough. 30 minutes walk from the centre. Ladies of the night on the street from dusk. Not nice when with the family.

    Met our needs.

What could be improved: Location was close to the train station and unfortunately did not feel safe to be walking alone or after dark. A sofa would make it more comfortable.

  • Good for a short stay in Bordeaux. – William from United Kingdom – 15 June 2025 (7/10)

Spacious, well equipped and comfortable bed.

What could be improved: No air con. Very noisy neighbourhood at night. Complex entry system.

  • Good value and helpful staff but they need to do more – Rose from Belgium – 4 June 2025 (7/10)

The apartment (hotel) was spotless however there was a lingering smell I would say from cooking. It didn’t go away which the smell seemed to come from the drains. It was nauseous unfortunately.
In the living area there were two chairs instead of a sofa in front of the tv. This is uncomfortable.
    A patio had no furniture.
It’s a new facility but they need to go that bit further to warrant a higher recommendation.

What could be improved: Smalls coming from the drain we’re nauseous
Two chairs could be replaced by a sofa instead
A chair/table is missing on the balcony.
Difficult to find even by the taxi
