Honestly, when I first walked up to this place on Rue Courbin, I wasn’t expecting much – I mean, it’s tucked into this narrow street that you’d probably walk past without noticing. But then you step inside and it’s like… wow, okay, this is actually something special. The whole setup screams luxury apartment rather than typical hotel, which makes sense given the name (T2 bis is basically French for a nice one-bedroom with extra space, if you’re wondering).

What really got me was the pool situation – and I know what you’re thinking, pools in Bordeaux city center are basically unicorns. This one’s not huge, but it’s perfectly placed and actually swimmable, not just for show. The apartment itself feels genuinely luxurious without being stuffy about it. You know how some fancy places make you afraid to touch anything? This isn’t that. The kitchen’s properly equipped (I made coffee every morning and it didn’t involve those terrible pod machines), and the whole space just feels… lived-in, in the best way possible. The design’s contemporary but warm – lots of natural light, which is crucial when you’re staying somewhere for more than a night or two.

Location-wise, you’re literally in the heart of everything but somehow still on a quiet street. Walk five minutes toward Place Gambetta and you’re in prime shopping territory. The other direction takes you straight to the old town and all those wine bars that Bordeaux does so well. I actually prefer this spot to some of the more obvious touristy areas because you get that neighborhood feel – there’s a bakery around the corner that locals actually use, not just one that exists for visitors. Parking can be tricky (it’s Bordeaux center, what do you expect?), but they’ll sort you out with info about nearby options. The 9.4 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s one of those places where everything just works smoothly, from check-in to the little touches like actually good toiletries and proper blackout curtains. If you’re the type who wants hotel services and restaurant downstairs, this probably isn’t your vibe. But if you want to live like a stylish Bordelais for a few days, with that pool as a bonus? Yeah, this hits differently than your standard hotel room.
