Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about this place? The stone façade actually looks like it belongs in Bordeaux – not one of those generic renovations that strips away all the character. This traditional Bordelaise house on Rue Cazemajor sits in Nansouty Saint-Genes, which honestly might be one of the better neighborhoods to stay in if you want to feel like you’re living in the city rather than just visiting it.
The location is pretty smart, actually. You’re far enough from the tourist crush around Place de la Bourse that you can walk to the corner café in the morning without dodging tour groups, but close enough to hop on the tram (Line A is your friend here) and be in the historic center in maybe fifteen minutes. I mean, sure, you could stay right in the Vieille Ville, but then you’d be dealing with cobblestones dragging your luggage and paying twice as much for a mediocre dinner. The Nansouty area has this lived-in feel – there’s a great little market on Saturday mornings just a few streets over, and the kind of wine shops where the owner will actually talk to you about what you’re buying instead of just pointing at the most expensive bottle.
What really works about this house is how they’ve kept the original stone walls and high ceilings but made everything actually comfortable. The rooms feel substantial – thick walls mean you’re not hearing every conversation from the street or the neighbors (trust me, this matters more than you think in French city centers). Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, none of that awkward hovering around a tiny lobby situation. Parking can be a bit of a dance in this neighborhood, but honestly that’s true anywhere in Bordeaux unless you want to stay out by the airport. The 8.9 rating makes sense to me – it’s the kind of place that gets the important stuff right without trying to impress you with unnecessary flourishes. You’ll sleep well, the shower pressure is decent, and when you step outside you’re in an actual Bordeaux neighborhood where people live and work, not a sanitized tourist bubble. If you’re the type who’d rather grab your morning coffee from a local spot than a hotel breakfast room, and you don’t need someone to carry your bags, this feels like a solid choice. Plus, let’s be honest – staying in a real stone house in Bordeaux just feels right, especially when you’re not paying heritage hotel prices for the privilege.
Apartments in Bordeaux provide travelers with an authentic local experience, allowing them to shop at neighborhood markets and cook with fresh ingredients from the renowned Aquitaine region.

Short stay bordeaux – Gemma from United Kingdom – 3 July 2025 (10/10)
Location was perfect, just out of the busy area but within easy reach.
What could be improved: Everything was perfectGreat place, would definitely will stay there again. – David from Australia – 4 October 2024 (9/10)
I liked that it was clean and tidy and had a carpark space not far from the property. It was quiet street and about 25 minutes walk from the center of the ville.
.
What could be improved: On the instructions booklet should mentioned the closest shop like turn left at the very end there is a place to buy groceries also to indicate where the glass bottles disposal / bin should be indicated like go left at the very end of the street turn left and about 50 mts there is a wooden bin and dispose it thereCharm and relaxed ambiance. – Andrew from Australia – 18 August 2024 (9/10)
Easy Uber ride from the train station. Charming property with a small courtyard garden which fitted the imagined coffee in the morning and wine as the sun set. Owners were responsive and helpful.
Would be my choice for net time at Bordeaux. .. – Georg from Germany – 29 July 2022 (9/10)

Lovely stay, great little gem – Dole from United Kingdom – 7 July 2024 (9/10)
Garden was lovely, nice stock cupboard, quiet.
Good value but expect to walk a fair bit – Sanjna from United Kingdom – 3 October 2022 (7/10)
Really spacious apartment with all facilities and lovely garden and terrace. It was also easy to warm up when the nights got colder. It's in an okay location but down quiet and narrow streets but it does feel safe. It's decorated in a lovely style as well. The hosts were very helpful with giving as much information as possible. For the price, it is a good place to stay.
What could be improved: I would have preferred something closer to the main attractions. It's about a 12 minute walk to the nearest metro stop and about 25 minutes to the cathedral area where most of the good restaurants/bars are which is fine during the day but at night when it got colder did feel like quite long. It's not very sound-proof between the rooms either so if someone is moving upstairs, it's very clear in the downstairs bedroom as well. Although it was clean, neat and tidy, there were a lot of spiders webs near the ceiling and walls and we did both get several insect bites on our legs in the night. Overall though, for a price, it was a good stay.good communication with the host, the accommodation was comfortable and meet our needs for our stay – Hoshiar from United Kingdom – 8 September 2022 (7/10)
Location to Bordeaux center and plenty of space for family in accomodation and free parking nearby
What could be improved: no air conditioning and a few spider webs in corners of propertyCasa ampla – Alexandre from Brazil – 11 July 2025 (9/10)
Espaço amplo
What could be improved: Do espaço amplo com quintalVery good – Michel from France – 18 September 2024 (8/10)
la maison était dans une rue tranquille et typiquement bordelaise environnée de petites maisons de ville.
What could be improved: Il y avait un seul parking compris dans le logement.
