Hotel Description
Honestly, when I first walked up to this little T2 on Rue Sauteyron, I wasn’t sure what to expect – the street’s pretty quiet, tucked away from the main tourist drag, but that actually turned out to be one of its biggest advantages. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Place Gambetta (which, if you know Bordeaux, puts you right in the sweet spot), but without all the late-night revelry that can keep you up when you’re staying closer to the bar district. The building itself has that classic Bordelaise stone facade that looks almost golden when the afternoon light hits it just right, and I mean, you can’t fake that kind of character.
What really struck me about this place was how thoughtfully everything was set up – and I’m someone who usually notices when things feel rushed or generic. The T2 layout works brilliantly; there’s enough space to actually unpack and settle in (rare for city center accommodations, honestly), and the kitchen isn’t just for show. I ended up grabbing fresh bread from the boulangerie on Cours de l’Intendance most mornings because, well, when in Bordeaux, right? But having a proper space to enjoy it with good coffee made all the difference. The bedroom stays surprisingly quiet given that you’re in the heart of everything – I think it faces the interior courtyard, which is genius urban planning if you ask me. You know what impressed me most, though? The little details that show someone actually lives in this city and understands what travelers need. There’s proper blackout capability (crucial if you’re jet-lagged), the shower pressure is excellent, and they’ve got the WiFi situation sorted, which isn’t always a given in these historic buildings.
Location-wise, you’re golden here. Rue Sainte-Catherine for shopping is maybe a seven-minute walk, the tram stops at Gambetta are right there when you want to head out to the wine regions, and honestly, some of my favorite little wine bars are within stumbling distance – though I’d particularly recommend slipping down toward Rue du Pas-Saint-Georges area in the evenings. The 8.3 rating feels about right; it’s not trying to be a luxury hotel, but it delivers exactly what it promises with a level of authenticity that’s getting harder to find. If you’re the type who wants to feel like you’re actually experiencing Bordeaux rather than just visiting it, this hits that mark perfectly. Just don’t expect concierge service or daily housekeeping – this is more like borrowing a local friend’s perfectly appointed apartment, which in my book is infinitely better.

Neat loft accommodation to use as a base for travels. – Rykiah from Australia – 19 October 2022 (7/10)
Central location. Neat property with everything we needed nearby. Easy communication with the owners.
What could be improved: Only very small fans to get you through the night and it was quite hot. Shower was a bit dilapidated and mouldy but not the end of the world.Exceptional – Anonymous from France – 23 June 2025 (10/10)
Tout était parfait
