Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to this place on Allées de Tourny, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star apartment rental. But you know what? Sometimes the best surprises come in unassuming packages. The building itself has that classic Bordeaux limestone facade that you see all over the city center, and while it’s not going to win any architecture awards, there’s something reassuring about staying somewhere that actually feels like it belongs in the neighborhood.

The location is honestly what sold me on this place. You’re right in the thick of things on one of Bordeaux’s main thoroughfares – I mean, you can literally walk to Place Gambetta in about three minutes, and the Grand Théâtre is maybe a seven-minute stroll if you’re taking your time. What I really appreciated (and this is something you won’t get from most hotel descriptions) is that you’re close enough to everything without being stuck in total tourist chaos. Sure, Allées de Tourny gets busy during the day with all the trams and foot traffic, but it actually quiets down nicely in the evenings. The apartment itself feels more spacious than your typical hotel room – there’s a proper living area where you can spread out, and the kitchen setup is actually functional if you want to grab some cheese and wine from the marché and have a little picnic indoors. The décor is… well, let’s call it practical rather than Instagram-worthy, but everything feels clean and recently updated. I will say the bathroom could use a bit more counter space, and don’t expect luxury linens, but for the price point it’s totally reasonable.

Here’s what really matters though – you’re staying in a real Bordeaux neighborhood where locals actually live and work. There’s a decent café right around the corner where the barista remembered my order by day three, and you’re within walking distance of both the wine shops along Cours de l’Intendance and some genuinely good bistros that don’t have English menus plastered outside. The tram connections are super convenient too – line B stops practically at your doorstep, so getting out to the wine regions or even just across town is painless. Parking can be a bit of a nightmare during weekdays (like most of central Bordeaux), but there are underground options nearby if you’re driving. Overall, it’s one of those places that grows on you – not flashy, not perfect, but it gives you a genuine taste of what it’s like to actually live in Bordeaux rather than just passing through as a tourist.

  The location was perfect . Close to everything you would want to see in Bordeaux , including the Tourist Office and the lovely public park for sunbathing ! Excellent bars and restaurants within 5mins walk
  
  What could be improved: It was a little cramped and the spiral stairs within the apartment plus the stairs to the apartment might be difficult for some to negotiate.
