Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of places in Bordeaux, but Villa Rousseau actually surprised me – and honestly, that doesn’t happen often anymore. You know that feeling when you walk into somewhere and immediately think “okay, someone put real thought into this”? That’s what hit me the moment I stepped through the door on Rue Villedieu. The street itself is pretty quiet (which I mean as a huge compliment if you’ve ever tried to sleep near Place de la Victoire), and the villa sits there looking almost understated from the outside. But inside? Well, let’s just say the cinema room alone makes it worth the splurge.
The jacuzzi situation is legit – not one of those tiny hotel tubs they slap a fancy name on. I’m talking about a proper setup where you can actually stretch out after walking around the Saint-Pierre district all day. What really got me though was how they’ve managed to make everything feel residential rather than hotel-ish, if that makes sense. The rooms have this lived-in elegance, like you’re staying at a very well-off friend’s place who happens to have excellent taste in furnishings. The cinema setup is honestly better than most people have at home – proper screening room vibes with seating that doesn’t leave you with a crick in your neck. I ended up watching way more Netflix than I planned, which says something since Bordeaux has plenty to keep you busy outside.
What I really appreciate is the location – you’re close enough to walk to the tramway on Cours de l’Intendance without it being a trek, but far enough from the tourist chaos around the Grand Théâtre that you can actually think straight. The neighborhood has that perfect mix of local life and accessibility; there’s a decent boulangerie about two minutes away (essential for morning pastries), and you can reach the wine bars in Chartrons without needing a taxi. Parking was surprisingly manageable too, which anyone who’s driven in Bordeaux will tell you is basically a miracle. The 9.5 rating makes total sense once you experience how seamlessly everything works – from check-in to the little touches like actually good coffee in the room. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to extend your stay just to justify using all the amenities properly.

Such a beautiful property. Stylish, very spacious & immaculate. 3 double bedrooms (1 with en-suite shower) very comfortable beds. 3 WC’s. Sunny terrace & jacuzzi . We didn’t use the cinema room but it looked awesome. Everything you could possibly need was provided. Location was excellent. 5 min walk to tram & Rue Sainte-Catherine. c25 min walk to railway station or river. Great communication with owner.
