Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Villa Place St Pierre on Rue de la Devise, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the best finds are the ones that surprise you. This little apartment-style spot sits right in the heart of Bordeaux’s old town, and I mean *right* in it – you’re basically living like a local for however long you’re staying. The building itself has that classic Bordeaux limestone thing going on, and while it’s not fancy, there’s something really authentic about it that the chain hotels just can’t touch.
What actually won me over was how genuinely central this place is without being touristy-central, if that makes sense. You’re a two-minute walk from Place du Parlement (those gorgeous 18th-century facades everyone photographs), but you’re also stumbling distance from spots like Bar à Vin where actual Bordelais hang out, not just people clutching guidebooks. The apartment sleeps four people comfortably – I mean, it’s not spacious by American standards, but it’s perfectly livable and honestly, you’re not coming to Bordeaux to sit in your room anyway. The kitchen is small but functional, which matters because the morning markets on Cours Victor Hugo are incredible and you’ll want to bring stuff back. Speaking of mornings, the street can get a bit lively on weekend nights since you’re in the thick of things, but it quiets down by around 1 AM, and honestly the double-pane windows do their job pretty well.
Here’s what I really appreciated – the check-in was refreshingly straightforward, none of that overly complicated key-pickup-three-blocks-away nonsense some vacation rentals pull. The owner clearly knows the neighborhood because there were these little handwritten notes about which boulangerie opens earliest (it’s the one on Rue des Bahutiers, by the way) and where to find parking that won’t cost you a fortune. That 8.3 rating makes perfect sense to me – it’s not luxury, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any nasty surprises. The bathroom’s compact but well-designed, the bed was actually comfortable, and there’s decent WiFi throughout. Plus, you’re walking distance from the tram that takes you straight out to the wine regions if you’re planning day trips. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I was traveling with friends who wanted to experience Bordeaux more like residents than tourists passing through.
To book a hotel in Bordeaux during the wine harvest season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts wine enthusiasts from around the world.

The location of the property was excellent. It was very spacious with decent kitchen and bathroom facilities. It was certainly an experience to stay in such an old and grand building like this. The key exchange was prompt after a quick phone call.

Superb location, right on St Pierre Square with dozens of restaurants and bars on the doorstep. Very impressive apartment, beds were fantastic and kitchen had all appliances you could need. We were even left a bag of fresh coffee beans to use with the coffee machine.

The property is absolutely stunning. It’s on the ground floor and is a beautiful apartment full of character. The location is amazing, you are right in the heart of Bordeaux, and speaking to the management team was very easy with them being very accommodating after a delayed flight.

The apartment was in a wonderful old Bordeaux building with inner courtyard past the great big doors on the street . We felt part of Bordeaux straight away .
It was steeped in history with fireplaces in the master bedroom & sitting room but comfortably converted to an apartment. We also loved it had two toilets one separate from the bathroom .Also comfortable sofa and plenty of room throughout . The bed was super comfortable . The mattress had a soft topper which meant we slept really well . It all looked very new . The bedding was of good quality and the pillows very clean . The kitchen was well equipped and clean . It was a great place to gone back to . Very romantic .Finola from Ireland (9/10)
