I mean, it’s tucked right into this narrow street that most tourists probably walk past without noticing, but that’s honestly part of its charm. The spa double room lives up to its name – there’s this little wellness corner that’s not huge or anything, but after wandering around Bordeaux’s stone streets all day (and trust me, your feet will thank you for any pampering), it hits the spot perfectly.

The location is one of those things where you don’t realize how perfect it is until you’ve stayed a few nights. You’re basically a five-minute walk from Place de la Comédie, which means you can stumble back from those late dinners in the Saint-Pierre district without hunting for taxis or figuring out the tram schedule. But here’s the thing – Rue des Faures itself is quiet enough that you’re not dealing with the weekend party noise that can make some hypercentre spots pretty rough for light sleepers. I actually loved stepping out in the mornings when the street was still sleepy, grabbing coffee from that little place around the corner before the tourist crowds descended on the main squares. The building has that classic Bordeaux stone facade, so you feel properly embedded in the city’s rhythm rather than staying in some generic hotel bubble.

What really sold me on this place – and I think explains that 8.7 rating – is how they’ve managed to squeeze genuine style into what’s clearly not a massive space. The spa elements aren’t just thrown in there; they actually complement the room’s design in this thoughtful way that makes the whole space feel intentional. Plus, being on the ground floor means no elevator waits or schlepping luggage up narrow staircases, which anyone who’s stayed in Bordeaux’s older buildings will appreciate. It’s solidly three-star in terms of amenities (don’t expect a concierge or room service), but the execution feels more polished than that suggests. For the price point and the neighborhood, you’re getting way more personality than those chain places near the train station, and honestly, you’ll spend most of your time exploring the city anyway. Just book early if you’re coming during wine harvest season – this kind of boutique spot fills up fast when Bordeaux gets busy.

  Très bon séjour dans l’appartement après un week-end prolongé sur le Bassin d’Arcachon. Nous étions en télétravail et les conditions sont parfaites (bonne connexion wifi, appartement spacieux et très confortable). Nous avions hésité avec une chambre d’hôtel mais nous y avons trouvé tout le confort tout en nous sentant comme à la maison. Emplacement très central pour aller dîner le soir et se promener dans les jolies rue de Bordeaux.
