Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be straight with you about Trois Conils – it’s one of those finds that makes you feel a bit smug about your travel planning skills. The name literally means “three rabbits” (yeah, I had to look that up), and honestly, it fits this quirky little place perfectly. You’re right in the heart of Bordeaux’s old town on Rue des Trois-Conils, which is this narrow cobblestone street that somehow feels both medieval and perfectly livable at the same time. The fact that they managed to squeeze parking into this historic maze is honestly miraculous – anyone who’s tried to navigate a rental car through Bordeaux’s city center will appreciate this more than any fancy lobby.
What struck me most was how the place actually feels like staying in someone’s really well-appointed home rather than a typical rental property. The three bedrooms are spread out nicely, and having three full bathrooms means you’re not doing that awkward dance with your travel companions in the morning. The setup works whether you’re a family or just friends who value their privacy – I mean, we all have that one person who takes forever in the bathroom, right? The neighborhood itself is what sold me though. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Place du Parlement, where all those gorgeous 18th-century buildings make you stop and stare like a tourist (which, let’s face it, you are). But you’re also close enough to the real Bordeaux that you’ll hear church bells in the morning and catch the scent of fresh bread from the boulangerie around the corner.
The thing is, this area gets busy during the day – it’s not some hidden secret – but evenings actually quiet down nicely since it’s more residential than the main tourist strips. You know what I loved? Being able to walk to the Saturday market at Marché des Capucins without dealing with trams or taxis, then coming back to unload your wine purchases (because let’s be honest, that’s why you’re in Bordeaux) without worrying about lugging everything across the city. The rating of 8 out of 10 feels about right – it’s not luxury hotel perfect, but it’s got character and genuine charm that you just can’t manufacture. Plus, and this might sound weird, but the water pressure was actually excellent, which after a day of walking on cobblestones, matters more than you’d think.
Bordeaux’s hotels range from charming boutique properties in the historic city center to elegant châteaux converted into luxury accommodations in the surrounding wine country.

Reviews
Convenient for central Bordeaux city break. – Bernard from United Kingdom – 18 August 2023 (7/10)
Very central and convenient location, with a huge living space and good kitchen facilities.
What could be improved: At time of original booking, there were 2 WCs, but this changed subsequently and we were not aware that the ensuite one was not working.Spacious & quiet apartment, in a good location, with great transport links. – Martin from United Kingdom – 6 January 2025 (7/10)
The location is excellent, giving easy access to attractions, restaurants and shops.
Conveniently located for bus and tram links (Airport only 40mins ~2euros each).
Heating was very warm (ideal for winter)
WiFi worked well.
Local apartment management team where helpful is manging dates and where very helpful and communicative with any questions.
What could be improved: Only one out of two toilets worked (seems to be a long term problem) which isn't great for getting ready in the mornings, though each room does have a shower and basins.
Could have done with more information on rubbish and recycling arrangements.
A little dusty/musty.Exceptional – Aoife from Ireland – 14 August 2024 (10/10)
Jacobo was such a wonderful host and help, a true gentleman and a font of knowledge
What could be improved: Would have liked 2 toilets and a dryer and more air conditioning unitsExceptional – Linda from United States – 30 June 2023 (10/10)
Spacious flat with 3 bedrooms. Very nice furnishings and paintings. Right in a great spot for museums, all kinds of cafe's, also close to tram stops.
What could be improved: No complaints. The two nice flights of stairs are well lit.Insgesamt hat uns der Aufenthalt sehr gefallen. – Klaus from Germany – 4 August 2023 (8/10)
– M from Spain – 13 June 2023 (5/10)
La situació es molt bona, i l'apartament ampli per 6 persones.
What could be improved: Les instal·lacions molt malament: Dels 2 WC nomes funcionava 1, i per 6 persones no es suficient, vam agafar aquets que era molt mes car pels 2 WC i nomes funcionava 1, sense avis previ.
Very good – Santiago from Spain – 5 January 2025 (8/10)
