You know what struck me first about this loft? The way the light just floods in through those massive windows – I mean, we’re talking floor-to-ceiling glass that makes the whole space feel twice as big as it actually is. And honestly, when you step out onto that terrace in the morning with your coffee, you get this perfect view of Saint-Augustin that reminds you why people fall in love with Bordeaux in the first place.

The location on Avenue d’Arès is actually pretty brilliant if you know the area. Saint-Augustin has this lovely residential vibe – it’s not touristy at all, which means you’re living like a local rather than just visiting. There’s a fantastic boulangerie just down the street (the kind where they actually know your order by day three), and you can walk to the Jardin Public in about ten minutes when you need some green space. The tram connections are solid too – line C gets you into the city center without any fuss, though honestly, I found myself walking more often than expected because the neighborhoods between here and downtown are just so charming to wander through.

What really sets this place apart is how thoughtfully it’s set up. The loft design gives you that open, airy feeling without sacrificing functionality – there’s actually storage space, which anyone who’s stayed in European apartments knows isn’t always a given. The kitchen is properly equipped (I mean, they have decent knives and real coffee cups, not those tiny hotel things), and the terrace has comfortable seating where you can actually spend an evening with a bottle of wine. The whole place feels curated rather than just furnished, if that makes sense. Sure, it’s not massive – this is Bordeaux, not the suburbs – but everything has its place, and the industrial-chic aesthetic works really well with the natural light. I will say the stairs up to the loft area might be a consideration if you have mobility issues, but for most people it’s just part of the charm. The 9.4 rating makes total sense when you’re actually staying there – it’s one of those places where the photos are accurate but somehow don’t capture how comfortable and welcoming it feels in person.

  A very large beautiful apartment. With confortable furnishings and a well equipped kitchen. The shower was enormous. The ceiling above the bed was slanted which made the room quaint. Our host Fred was very friendly and easy to communicate with. He carried by bags up to the apartment 😃. The apartment is just outside the center of Bordeaux and right on the bus line.

  Lumineux, exceptionnellement bien décoré, et un énorme coup de cœur pour cette immense douche !
  Il ne manque rien et tout est très propre. C’est mon deuxième séjour et j’ai séjourné dans les deux lofts, je reviendrai avec grand plaisir.

  Très bel accueil de notre couple d'hôtes très serviable et à disposition. Bel appartement clair, traversant au 2ème étage sous les combles pour la chambre mais pièce à vivre sous plafond haut = agréable
