Honestly, when I first walked up to Superbes Studios on Cours de Tournon, I wasn’t sure what to expect – the building looks pretty standard from the street, tucked between those typical Bordeaux limestone facades. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t try too hard to impress you from the outside. The location is actually brilliant if you know Bordeaux at all. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Place des Quinconces (hence the name), which means you can stumble back from the Saturday market with your arms full of cheese and wine without breaking a sweat. More importantly, you’re right in that sweet spot where you can walk to the old town’s cobblestone streets, but you’re not dealing with the tourist chaos on every corner.

The studios themselves – well, they’re exactly what they promise. Clean, functional, with that minimalist European vibe that somehow feels more honest than fancy. I mean, this isn’t a place trying to wow you with marble bathrooms or whatever, but the beds are comfortable and the kitchenettes actually work (you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case). What really sold me was how quiet it gets at night. Cours de Tournon isn’t one of those main drags where delivery trucks start rumbling at 6 AM, so you can actually sleep in if you want to. The staff genuinely seems to care too – they’ll give you proper recommendations, not just the touristy spots everyone already knows about. One guy at the front desk told me about this little wine bar on Rue des Remparts that I never would have found otherwise.

Here’s the thing about staying here: you feel like you’re living in Bordeaux rather than just visiting it. There’s a Monoprix around the corner for groceries, a decent boulangerie two blocks down (get there before 10 AM for the pain au chocolat), and you’re close enough to the tram that you can easily get out to the wine regions if that’s your thing. The 8.8 rating makes sense – it’s not trying to be something it’s not, but it does what it does really well. Sure, the décor is a bit basic, and don’t expect a concierge or room service, but for a three-star place in this part of the city? You’re getting solid value. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I was planning to spend most of my time exploring rather than lounging around the hotel. It’s the kind of place that just works, you know?

  Delizioso appartamento dotato di tutti i confort, divano letto molto comodo e spazioso, c'è tutto quello di cui uno ha bisogno! Lo consiglio anche per la vicinanza ai mezzi pubblici , 3 linee del tram passano a due minuti da casa quindi posizione ottima!! Pulito e ben tenuto! È al terzo piano senza ascensore , l'immobile è molto bello , ben tenuto , è situato in un viale alberato in una zona elegante e signorile. Quindi vale la pena fare anche 3 piani di scale!!
