You know what caught me off guard about this place? The name makes it sound fancy-pants French, but honestly, it’s just a really solid apartment rental that happens to have one of the better terraces I’ve seen in central Bordeaux. I mean, when you’re standing out there in the evening with a glass of wine (and let’s be real, you’re in Bordeaux – there will be wine), you can actually see why someone bothered to highlight the terrace in the name.

The location on Cours de la Somme is pretty sweet – you’re in that Nansouty Saint-Genes area which, if you don’t know Bordeaux well, sits just south of the real touristy center but close enough that you can walk to Place de la Victoire in about fifteen minutes. What I actually loved about staying here was that you get that local neighborhood vibe in the mornings. There’s a boulangerie practically around the corner where the owner will remember your order after day two, and the little market on Saturday mornings has this energy that the more central spots just don’t capture. The tram line is right there too – Line A stops super close, so getting to the historic center or even out to the wine regions becomes pretty effortless.

The apartment itself feels lived-in rather than sterile, which honestly works in its favor. It’s not going to blow you away with luxury – this is solid 3-star territory – but everything functions well and the kitchen actually has proper knives and decent pans (you’d be surprised how rare that is in rentals). The terrace, though – that’s where this place earns its keep. It’s not huge, but it’s positioned so you get afternoon sun without being completely exposed to your neighbors. I spent way too many evenings out there just watching the neighborhood wind down. The only real downside I noticed was that weekend nights can get a bit lively with university students in the area, but honestly, it dies down by midnight and you’re in France – embrace the energy. Check-in was straightforward, parking can be a little tricky if you’re driving (street parking mostly, but it’s manageable), and the 8.3 rating feels about right – it’s a place that does what it promises without any major surprises, good or bad.

  The property was clean and suited our needs well. We enjoyed our stay and the terrace was a lovely asset to have when the weather was good.
  
  What could be improved: The main issue was that the last step on the stairs on the way down was tiled the same colour as the hall. It looked as if it was level with the floor and we frequently tripped a a result. We put a note on this step with an arrow to remind us but it was removed. On the day before we left I tripped on the step, turned my ankle and hurt my arm on the sharp corner of the wall (see photo). We both feel strongly that the edge of this step should have tape or something else to indicate that it is not level with the floor.
  Not enough cutlery. Two knives, two dessert spoons and three tea spoons. Not enough toilet roll for the duration of our stay. No instructions about how to deal with the rubbish and the recycling. I asked about this in my response to the email I received the morning after our first night but got no response. I messaged the woman who had checked us in but got no information back.

  Nice apartment, renovated. Close to City Center and rather calm surroundings. We had everything we needed. Wi-Fi worked well.
  
  What could be improved: Staff was not friendly and not helpful, didn’t answer messages and didn’t give any instructions on departure. Not enough cutlery and toilet paper for our stay. In the kitchen was a pretty loud aeration that couldn’t be switched off and was disturbing. Furniture rather cheap and not in good condition. The apartment gets really hot in summer since the kitchen is located under the roof, better in the bedroom.

  lokacija dobra, miren okraj. Ker je bilo takrat zelo vroče zunaj, klima ni uspela znižati temperature na normalno. Tako bo najbrž tudi v juliju avgustu, vse ostale mesece pa ta apartma priporočam.

  Jolie réhabilitation pour cet appartement en duplex inversé, dans une maison, avec la belle surprise d’une terrasse privative…et un parking.
  
  What could be improved: Les petits détails qui font le plus d une bonne location: du mobilier de qualité et des équipements en bon état ce qui n est pas tout à fait le cas. Pas d attention particulière avec à minima quelques capsules de café. Quartier proche du centre de Bordeaux mais malheureusement pas très engageant.
