Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Studio triangle d’Or? The name actually makes perfect sense once you’re there – it’s literally tucked into Bordeaux’s golden triangle, that sweet spot in the city center where everything worth seeing is within walking distance. I mean, you’re basically a five-minute stroll from Place de la Bourse (the one with the famous water mirror that everyone photographs), and honestly, that location alone makes up for any quirks this little 3-star might have.
The studio setup is exactly what it sounds like – compact but surprisingly well thought out. It’s not trying to be fancy, and I appreciate that kind of honesty in a place. The rooms have this practical efficiency that reminds me why European city hotels work so differently from those massive American chains. Everything you need is there, just… smaller. The kitchenette actually functions (I made coffee every morning without wanting to throw something), and the bathroom, while not spacious, has decent water pressure – which, let’s be real, matters more than marble countertops when you’re exploring a city all day. The 7.7 rating feels about right; it’s solidly good without being exceptional.
What I really loved was stepping outside each morning into the actual rhythm of Bordeaux. You’re not in some tourist bubble here – there’s a proper boulangerie around the corner where locals grab their morning bread, and the tram stops nearby connect you to everything from the wine districts to the newer Darwin area across the river. The building itself has that classic Bordeaux limestone look (they’re pretty strict about preserving that architectural consistency here), so you feel integrated into the neighborhood rather than dropped into it. Parking can be tricky – this is old-city-center France, after all – but there’s a public garage about three blocks away, and honestly, you won’t need your car much once you’re settled in. The area gets pleasantly lively in the evenings, especially during wine season when the whole city has this energetic buzz, but it’s not the kind of noisy that keeps you awake. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I wanted to feel like I was actually living in Bordeaux for a few days rather than just passing through it.

Reviews
Bordeaux is a lot more than wines. – Kathleen from Australia – 29 September 2024 (8/10)
A compact apartment with all the facilities a traveller needs to be comfortable. The shower was hot with great water pressure. And the lift access to the room was welcome.
What could be improved: The washing machine was great, but an iron would have been a bonus.Good location, good for a short stay. – Tarcila from Portugal – 14 July 2025 (8/10)
Location
What could be improved: Not really so clean. We had to use the fan that was available there and it was really dirty. Shower gel would be great.Central place with no view – Mbe10024 from France – 25 June 2024 (7/10)
The place is very central close to everything. The building is super safe and the apartment was nice. Small but nice. There is an elevator which is useful when traveling with suitcase. It has everything you need for a short stay.
What could be improved: Place is very dark and the apartment faces another building, less than 3 meters away. This means you need to get dressed in the bathroom which is very small. No vue from the windows. It's ok as I only stayed 3 days however I had to work a couple of hours, so it was a bit annoying.Perfect location for exploring a beautiful city. – Mary from Ireland – 19 October 2023 (8/10)
Excellent location for exploring city. Easy to access from airport. Very lively area but apartment not bothered by street noise. Great facilities within walking distance. Very well equipped studio apartment. Access and departure were very simple.
What could be improved: Studio is very compact but as we only slept there, it wasn't an issue. It was my mistake when booking as I thought I was booking a one bedroom plus sofa bed, not just a sofa bed. However, as stated, it did not take from our enjoyment of the trip.Good – Jambriško from Slovenia – 20 September 2023 (7/10)
Amazing location, walking distance to all the important sights in Bordeaux.
Very good – Owen from United States – 16 July 2023 (8/10)
Location
What could be improved: Couldnt figure out Wi-Fi and AC.Great base for a city break – Kieran_dublin from Ireland – 30 November 2022 (8/10)
Great location at the centre's edge, easily accessible by bus 1 from the airport. Fantastic value. Very quiet.
What could be improved: Two bath towels, one hand towel and one tea towel were insufficient for a five day stay, particularly as we couldn't get the electric towel rail to work. No grab rail in the shower. No instructions to operate appliances. Perhaps a spring cleaning is overdue.Great location. – Oz from Australia – 30 April 2024 (7/10)
The apartment is very quiet and in an excellent location. There are supermarkets, eateries and public transport nearby.
What could be improved: We thought there was a separate bedroom and a sofa bed when we booked which other people have also commented on. I must have misunderstood this on booking.com. The bathroom could be cleaner as there was some mould. There were no instructions on how to use appliances or make the TV work. Also, even though we paid a cleaning fee we had to strip the bed and take out the garbage.everything was great – Oganesyan from Armenia – 14 October 2022 (10/10)
the location is perfect, in the heart of Bordeaux. The apartments are small, but it was very comfortable, there were all amenities, household appliances. Hope to return soon.
What could be improved: there was uncleaned gum on the floor, which wonderfully stuck to my sneakers 😆Great accommodation but the description is misleading! – Paul from United Kingdom – 13 September 2023 (5/10)
Great location, facilities, very reasonably priced and great communications with the property manager.
What could be improved: The description of the aparment is misleading. My booking confirmation clearly stated "this apartment consists of 1 living room, 1 separate bedroom" "The unit offers 2 beds." There is no separate bedroom and there is one pulldown sofabed. Booked with a friend to attend the Rugby World Cup and we had to take turns sleeping on the floor.
