Hotel Description

You know what hit me first about this little studio on rue Saint Hubert? The light – and I mean, the name wasn’t kidding about “lumineux.” I’ve stayed in plenty of Bordeaux apartments that felt like caves, but this place actually gets proper sunlight streaming through those tall French windows. It’s tucked right in the Chartrons district, which honestly is where you want to be if you’re not into the tourist circus around Place de la Bourse.

The location is sort of perfect in that understated way. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Jardin Public – and I mean actually two minutes, not that “short walk” nonsense you usually see in listings. I ended up grabbing coffee from the little café on the corner most mornings, then wandering over to sit by the pond before the day got started. The Chartrons area has this laid-back vibe that’s hard to find in central Bordeaux anymore, plus you’ve got those amazing antique shops and wine bars scattered around if that’s your thing. The tram stop is right there too, so getting down to the old town or over to the train station is dead simple.

What really sold me on the place was how it felt like someone’s actual home rather than a sterile rental. The owner clearly put thought into the details – good coffee setup, decent shower pressure (honestly a miracle in these old buildings), and the bed was actually comfortable, not one of those rock-hard European mattresses that leave you walking funny. The studio layout works well; it’s compact but not cramped, and there’s enough counter space to spread out if you’re planning to eat in occasionally. Parking can be a bit tricky in this neighborhood – street spots fill up pretty quickly, especially on weekends when people come for the Saturday market. But there’s a public lot about five minutes away if you’re driving.

The 9 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there a few days. It’s one of those places where everything just works without any drama. Check-in was smooth, the WiFi actually functioned for video calls, and the whole building stays surprisingly quiet considering you’re in the middle of the city. I stayed during late spring, which seemed ideal – warm enough to keep the windows open but not so hot that you’re dying without AC. The neighborhood gets pretty lively on Friday and Saturday nights with people bar hopping, but it never felt rowdy or unsafe, just energetic.

Apartments in Bordeaux provide travelers with an authentic local experience, allowing them to shop at neighborhood markets and cook with fresh ingredients from the renowned Aquitaine region.

The appartment is charming, the fresh breakfast was perfect as well. Not in the center but very close to it, could be reached on foot.

What could be improved: Had some stress with the car – parking place was not booked for us. But the hostess recomended free parking spaces not far away from the appartment.

  • Very recommended! – Eckardt from Germany – 24 June 2025 (9/10)

Nice and tidy studio in good location.
Garage parking available for additional payment.
    Very well equipped.
Excellent location to get to downtown.
    Nice reception.

What could be improved: The only thing to improve is the couch as a second bed. Needs some effort to deploy and is shaky and not so comfortable to sleep on.

  • Exceptional – Stefani from Italy – 10 June 2025 (10/10)

    All perfect

The best stay of my life. Even better than a 5 star hotel. The host was so wonderful and helpful. Exactly as
seen in the photos, fully equipped and clean, even had a few things to eat upon arrival as well as water which was really appreciated. Just perfect overall. The location was also very good and check in was smooth and easy.

    Convenience
    Very nice area
    Easy & comfortable
All the extras like juice, water, milk & rusks were appreciated.

What could be improved: Bathroom is tiny.

  • Worth the value, offered quality rest, and would stay again. – Alex from United States – 20 July 2024 (10/10)

Cozy, clean, and quiet. It was exactly what we needed to get some rest after a marathon series of flights and transit. Definitely spacious enough for two people, and there were complimentary candies and basic breakfast foods (cookies/cakes, juice, creamer, coffee). Nice shower too!
Exactly what you’re looking for in a short stay, though it would also be suitable for several days.

What could be improved: The bathroom was a little tight in terms of space, but totally manageable for one person at a time.
The kitchen faucet worked fine, but needs a simple repair as it’s loose in its fixture… didn’t effect anything though.

  • Perfect – Kurtis from Australia – 3 June 2024 (10/10)

    Beautiful in every way

  • Great location and very reasonably priced. Unfortunately, communication with the host wasn’t great and caused issues arou – Joanne from United Kingdom – 18 September 2023 (8/10)

Very clean and great location close to the tram station. Also secure parking for a small daily fee which was well worth it.

What could be improved: The sofa bed was incredibly uncomfortable. I managed for a couple of nights but any longer would have been torturous!
