Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw “studio cocoon” in the name, I was expecting something tiny and cramped. But this little place on Rue Saint-Hubert actually lives up to its cozy promise in the best way possible. You’re right in the heart of Chartrons, which honestly might be my favorite part of Bordeaux now. It’s got that perfect mix of residential calm and urban convenience that’s hard to find.
The studio itself is smartly designed – I mean, they’ve clearly thought about how real people actually use a space. Everything has its place without feeling sterile or overly designed. What really won me over was stepping outside in the morning. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Jardin Public, and I found myself grabbing coffee and heading there almost every day. The park’s got this lovely old-school French garden vibe, perfect for morning runs or just sitting with a book. And here’s something the guidebooks don’t tell you – the Saturday morning market along the Chartrons waterfront is incredible. Fresh oysters, local cheeses, that whole scene. You’ll stumble onto it just by wandering toward the river.
The neighborhood’s got character too. Rue Saint-Hubert itself is quiet enough that you won’t deal with street noise (always a concern in city centers), but you’re still walking distance to the antique shops and wine bars that make Chartrons special. Actually, there’s this little wine bar called Le Flacon that’s maybe three blocks away – locals hang out there, not tourists, and they know their Bordeaux wines obviously. The tram’s right there too if you want to head into the main city center, though honestly I found myself staying in the area more than I expected. Oh, and parking – if you’re driving, there are spots on the street, but like anywhere in Bordeaux, you’ll want to get there early or be prepared to circle a bit.
What struck me most was how the place manages to feel both intimate and functional. You know those places that look great in photos but then you realize there’s nowhere to put your suitcase? Not an issue here. The 9.1 rating makes sense – it’s not trying to be a luxury hotel, but it absolutely nails what it is trying to be. Perfect for couples or solo travelers who want to feel like they’re living in Bordeaux rather than just visiting it.

Everything was cozy and comfortable and we would definitely stay again. The ceilings are low but the host does point th – Josephine from Canada – 2 July 2025 (10/10)
The host was responsive and helpful. There is a guest book with lots of helpful information. It is within walking distance to the waterfront, public gardens, and other tourist sites worth seeing, The host gave us an address for a grocery store nearby and there are a few nice restaurants. Comfortable bed and pillows. The deliciously fresh croissants and fruit for breakfast were appreciated. There were little treats to welcome you like a dish of fruity candy and dark chocolate, single serving-size cake and brownie, water, juice, and milk in the fridge.
What could be improved: We could not get the dishwasher started but we didn’t mind washing our dishes by hand as there was soap, sponge, and dish towel provided. There was a heatwave in Bordeaux during our stay so the air conditioner worked overtime and on day three started to leak and had to be turned off in order to defrost the ice buildup. Just glad it was the last day because it would have been a sauna without it.Superb – Joakim from Sweden – 23 June 2025 (9/10)
Service minded host, very sympathetic
Exceptional – Katia_prague from Czech Republic – 30 May 2025 (10/10)
Very cosy apartment, with cooking amenities, some snacks and other little attentions. Close to the center and the river.
Short weekend in Bordeaux!! – Mister from Spain – 14 April 2025 (9/10)
The host is super nice, good English speaker, the flat is really close to the centre and easy to reach even by car. Calm area no noises. Everything was clean and comfortable, the bed included, it has all necessary for a few days. Really convenient garage for the car in the same street, important to save a place in advance. Just be careful if u rent and u r tall (plus 180cm), because the ceiling is not high, it is a bit uncomfortable but it was nice anyway.
What could be improved: .A wonderful apartment in a beautiful setting. – Emma from United Kingdom – 29 November 2024 (10/10)
The host was very helpful and went out of her way to welcome me very late in the evening.
What could be improved: The apartment was in the attic and the ceilings might be a little low for people over 175mA perfect place to stay in when visoting Bordeaux. Nice and calme and close to the most charming and oldest bakery in to – Marit from Sweden – 6 October 2024 (10/10)
Clean and welcoming!
I would definitely go back!!! – Maria from Colombia – 27 August 2024 (10/10)
The studio was just perfect for me and my friend. It is very well located which allowed us to enjoy our time in Bordeaux using public transportation. The personnel are so kind, they even helped us with our luggage for a few hours so we could make the most of our last hours in the city.
Great location, lovely host – Rsh1124 from United Kingdom – 30 June 2024 (9/10)
Great location, clean, good value for money and very helpful and communicative host who provided essentials and beyond
What could be improved: Not a problem for me, but the ceiling is low in parts that may make using the sink or bed a little uncomfortableExceptional – Gloria from Italy – 13 May 2024 (10/10)
The cleanest and cutest home I ever stayed till now! Little but perfectly set up with everything you could need, good quality and new kitchen's appliances, bathroom spacious and well organized and mattress not too soft, the perfetc medium hardness to be comfotable for the back.
I love the church's bell which appears from the window on the roof! Position is perfect to reach the city centre walking or by tram, and Chartrons district, where it's located, is so charming.
What could be improved: Nothing! I would love to come back again.Best apartment ever! – Zala from Slovenia – 15 September 2023 (10/10)
We liked absolutely everything about the property! Incredible host, amazing apartment, and great location. Everything was very clean and well maintained, the street and building are so charming! There was also a tray of goods we could help ourselves to (e.g. coffee, biscuits…), which even further showed how thoughtful the host is.
