Hotel Description
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from Studio BORDEAUX ST AUGUSTIN when I first walked up to 36 ter rue Joseph Lebrix – it’s tucked into this quiet residential stretch in Saint Augustin that feels refreshingly removed from the tourist crowds. But you know what? Sometimes the best finds are the ones that don’t announce themselves with fancy facades. This little 3-star spot has that lived-in charm that actually makes you feel like you’re staying somewhere real, not some sterile hotel bubble.
The Saint Augustin neighborhood is one of those areas that locals love but visitors often miss – which is honestly part of its appeal. You’re about a 15-minute tram ride from the historic center, but here’s the thing: you’ll probably find yourself lingering in the area because it’s got this authentic Bordeaux vibe. There’s a fantastic morning market just a few streets over where you can grab proper coffee and pastries (skip the hotel breakfast, trust me on this), and the tree-lined streets are perfect for those early evening walks when the light hits just right. The studio setup works really well if you’re planning to spend actual time in your room – I mean, not everyone wants to collapse onto a tiny hotel bed after a day of wine tasting. You’ve got space to spread out, and the little kitchenette means you can stash those bottles you inevitably buy without worrying about airline restrictions later.
What really sold me on this place was how quiet it gets at night. You know how some city accommodations have you listening to traffic or neighbors until 2 AM? Not here. The residential setting means you’ll actually sleep, and honestly, after days of walking cobblestones and climbing cathedral steps, that matters more than thread count. The 8.7 rating makes sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s not trying to be fancy, but it nails the fundamentals. Check-in was straightforward (though I’d recommend arriving before 7 PM since it’s not a big operation), and the whole experience felt more like borrowing a friend’s place than staying at a hotel. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle if you’re driving – the streets are narrow and spots fill up, but there’s usually something within a block or two if you’re patient. The real win is the tram connection though; you can be sipping wine in the Chartrons district or wandering through Place de la Bourse without dealing with Bordeaux’s increasingly tricky downtown parking situation. For the price point, especially during peak season when the city center gets absolutely packed, Studio BORDEAUX ST AUGUSTIN delivers exactly what you want: a clean, comfortable base that doesn’t eat your entire travel budget and actually lets you experience Bordeaux like someone who lives here, not just visits.
Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Bordeaux through local agencies that offer personalized recommendations and insider knowledge about the best neighborhoods for exploring the city’s rich cultural heritage.

The property was very clean and well appointed. It was in a quiet, safe neighbourhood and had a very nice private garden in the back.
The room contained ample amounts of soap, towels, blankets, etc. it also had many extra convenience items – umbrella, washing machine, shoe polisher, shoe horn, ample power outlets.
They were also very generous and allowed us a late checkout on our last day.John from United Kingdom (9/10)

We were very unsure of this apartment when we booked, but it exceeded our expectations. It was very tastefully decorated and equipped with everything we needed. The location, although it seems out of the way, was excellent, with easy access to the tram lines. There are a number of small shops locally for breakfast etc. Do not hesitate to book this place if it is available.
