You know what caught me off guard about this little studio? The location is actually perfect if you want to experience Bordeaux like someone who lives here, not just another tourist hitting the same wine bars everyone talks about. It’s tucked away on rue Saint-Hubert in Chartrons – and I mean properly tucked away, which honestly took me a minute to find the first time, but that’s part of its charm. This neighborhood has this lived-in feel that most hotel districts just don’t have. You’ll walk past actual locals buying their morning bread, not souvenir shops.

The studio itself is exactly what you’d expect from a well-run 3-star place, but with some thoughtful touches that make it feel less generic. The space is compact but smartly laid out – I mean, it’s a studio, so don’t expect to spread out like you’re in some grand hotel suite, but everything you need is there and actually works properly. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays, even though you’re right in the city. The building has thick walls, and rue Saint-Hubert doesn’t get the late-night foot traffic that some of the main drags do. The 8.6 rating makes sense when you consider you’re getting solid value without any major headaches – good Wi-Fi, decent shower pressure, and a kitchenette that’s more than just for show.

Here’s the thing about Chartrons that makes staying here actually smart: you’re a easy walk from the antique markets along the quays (Saturday mornings are when the good stuff comes out), and the tram line is literally around the corner if you need to get to the historic center quickly. But honestly, some of my favorite meals happened within three blocks of this place – there’s this wine bar on rue Notre-Dame that locals pack into after work, and a bakery on cours Portal de l’Eau where the owner will chat with you about which neighborhoods are worth exploring. You won’t stumble into these spots if you’re staying in the touristy areas. The only minor thing I’d mention is that if you’re traveling with big suitcases, the entrance is a bit narrow – not a dealbreaker, just something to keep in mind. Overall though, if you want to stay somewhere that feels connected to actual Bordeaux life while still having everything sorted for a comfortable stay, this studio delivers on that promise.

  We loved the area, within walking distance to the tram, jasmine and hollyhocks everywhere and lovely places to eat/ have coffee nearby. The property was exactly as we expected and suited us perfectly. Sandra delivered croissants /bread/fruit each morning for breakfast. Rue Notre Dame was lovely to wander with all the antique shops – better than a museum!

  It was a nice flat, very comfortable and everything was really clean. The public transports are near and you can reach everything very quickly.

  Location, quietness, oven and microwave.Good clear instructions for arriving at and using properly. Good amount of information for tourists
  
  What could be improved: No curtains letting night street lights in. Shower room small. Nowhere to hang clothes. No plug in kitchen sink. The bed was against the wall making it difficult to get out of if needed in middle of night.TV remote didn’t work.

  Neat and clean, good location. We requested a clothes drying rack which was provided and was very helpful. Toiletries were provided. Kitchen was well equipped with crockery cutlery and cooking pots and there were some spices etc. Medium size good fridge. The cooking range worked well.
  
  What could be improved: Seemed smaller than the 30 squares advertised. The shower and a separate toilet are so small, probably suitable for a thin person. TV remote did not work. The ac made too much noise. Washing machine soap was not provided. We missed a toaster. The breakfast provided was not enough for 2 persons for 2 days. The apartment door lock was very tricky to lock and took us sometime to figure out how to lock!

  Bright, clean, and comfortable. Quiet location but near the city centre. Parking safe and secure ( small extra charge but worth peace of mind with hire car). Lots of hot water, well stocked kitchen.
  
  What could be improved: Unfortunately, the previous residents had smoked in the apartment and the smell lingered which spoilt our stay, very unpleasant. The lovely owner did apologise. The breakfast was very sad, 2 pats of butter, 6 French toasts, 2 teabags and 4 coffee pots for 2 for 2 days. Don't depend on it to start your day well. Tiny towels.
