Hotel Description
Honestly, when I first walked up to the Staycity on Rue Leyteire, I wasn’t expecting much – it’s tucked into this pretty residential street that you’d probably walk past without noticing. But you know what? That’s actually part of its charm. You’re literally a five-minute stroll from Place Gambetta (where all the good cafés are), but you’re not dealing with the tourist chaos that comes with staying right in the thick of things.
The aparthotel thing really works here, and I mean that in the best way possible. Each unit feels more like borrowing a friend’s flat than staying in some sterile hotel room. The kitchenettes are actually functional – not just for show – which saved me a fortune since Bordeaux restaurants can get pricey fast. I loved being able to grab fresh bread from the boulangerie around the corner and make proper coffee in the morning instead of that weird hotel lobby stuff. The staff at check-in were refreshingly straightforward too, none of that over-the-top hospitality theater. They just told me what I needed to know about the neighborhood and let me get on with it.
What surprised me most was how quiet it gets at night, even though you’re still properly in the city center. The windows actually block out street noise (revolutionary concept, right?), and since it’s not on one of the main drags like Cours de l’Intendance, you don’t get the late-night foot traffic. During the day though, you’re perfectly positioned – the tram stop is basically at your doorstep, so getting to the wine museums or even out to the vineyards is dead simple. I also discovered this little wine bar called Le Bouchon Bordelais just two streets over that definitely doesn’t make it into the guidebooks but probably should. The whole area has this lived-in feel where you’re staying where actual Bordelais live and work, not in some sanitized tourist bubble. Sure, it’s not going to win any design awards – the décor is pretty straightforward, maybe even a bit bland – but everything works properly, the WiFi doesn’t cut out every ten minutes, and there’s enough space to actually unpack your suitcase. For a three-star place, it punches well above its weight, and that 8.7 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed there.

Fantastic apartments in the centre of Bordeaux. We were very close to everything and it was very easy to get public transport Tram Line A from Airport to Palais du Palais tram stop for only 1.90EURO and then a 8 min walk to the apartments. The room was modern, clean and a very spacious bathroom. The bed was also incredibly comfortable. Location wise it was no more than a 10min walk to the main old town.

Very convenient for the centre. Twenty minute walk and you are in the centre. Really helpful staff. Very clever use of space in order to call it an apartment. There is storage under the bed for suitcases (which makes the bed high of course).
Good quality all around and very new.Linda from France (9/10)
