Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Spacieux Studios? The name actually delivers – these aren’t those cramped European “studios” where you’re basically sleeping in a closet. I mean, when you’re on Cours de Verdun in Chartrons, you sort of expect character, but the space here genuinely surprised me.
The location is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in Bordeaux rather than just visiting it. Chartrons has this whole laid-back vibe that’s completely different from the touristy center – you’ve got locals doing their morning coffee runs, the Saturday organic market that spills down the streets, and you’re maybe a ten-minute walk to those wine bars along the quais that nobody writes about in guidebooks. The Jardin Public is right there (hence the name), which is actually brilliant for morning runs or just escaping when the city feels too much. I loved watching the old guys play pétanque there around 5 PM – it’s like dinner theater, but free.
What really works about this place is how they’ve figured out the practical stuff without making it feel sterile. The studios have proper kitchenettes – not just a hot plate and a prayer – so you can actually hit the market and cook decent meals. The beds are comfortable (I’m picky about this), and honestly, the soundproofing is better than you’d expect for a 3-star place. Chartrons can get lively, especially weekend nights when people spill out of the wine bars, but I slept fine. Check-in was smooth, though parking can be a bit of a hunt during market days – just something to keep in mind if you’re driving. The staff seemed to actually know the neighborhood, which sounds basic but you’d be amazed how rare that is.
Here’s the thing about staying in Chartrons versus the old town – you’re trading postcard views for real life, and depending on what you’re after, that might be exactly right. You’ll walk past the same boulangerie every morning (get the pain aux raisins, trust me), you’ll figure out which café has the good espresso, and by day three you’ll feel less like a tourist taking photos of everything. The tram’s right there when you want to head into central Bordeaux, but honestly, some of my best meals were within three blocks of the hotel. There’s this little bistro on Rue Notre Dame that doesn’t look like much from outside… well, that’s half the fun of staying somewhere like this – you actually discover things instead of just checking them off a list.
To book a hotel in Bordeaux during the wine harvest season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts wine enthusiasts from around the world.

Reviews
Great value for money – Capata from Belgium – 4 July 2025 (10/10)
Everything was perfect: the place, the location and the host!
What could be improved: Nothing negative to say!Very good central property, very clean and well maintained. Difficult with any heavy cases. – John from Australia – 22 May 2025 (10/10)
Good central area. Excellent facilities.
What could be improved: 3rd floor with only stairs, would have liked an early entry.Very pleasant. The perfect appartment for our short stay. – Dervla from Ireland – 10 November 2024 (10/10)
The concierge Lucie was very kind and explained everything to us and gave recommendations. Appartment was very clean and perfectly equipped for our stay. Great location, very close to a carrefour and a beautiful church.
What could be improved: Nothingvery friendly & helpful staff, great location, and exceptional modern property – Mickael from France – 11 July 2024 (9/10)
Super nice, modern, clean, class
What could be improved: a little hot, some climatisation would be a super bonusSuperb – Evan from Germany – 3 July 2024 (9/10)
Location and quality of the facilities in the apartment were fantastic. The communication with the host was open and they answered all of our questions.
Lovely apartment, great location – Dykeymoo from Australia – 24 April 2024 (9/10)
Great location, the host (Lucie) was very kind and helpful. Clean and comfortable apartment.
What could be improved: With kids especially, its hard to prevent thudding noises for the apartment below when moving around as the floor is not thick / insulated. This shouldn't be a problem before night time though but it makes it less relaxing worrying about noise.
The sofa bed is a little uncomfortable, but fine for kids.Very good – Iaia_travel from Netherlands – 6 July 2025 (8/10)
The position is top, close to everything (supermarket, bakery, restaurants, P+R parking for the car …etc)
The apartment is big and very clean and all appliances are present in the kitchen. We had some coffee and complementary water as well
If you travel with a baby, they have a travel cot with a good mattress and a nice highchair.
What could be improved: The communication with the property was weird I received a ton of messages the weeks before my check in and could be smoother
The apartment has a couple of things that we didn't like:
– It is really too hot in summer. While fans are provided, it was rough to stay at home and sleep properly. Probably also due to the fact that the windows have expousure on the internal part of the building only (no view)
– You can hear everything from the apartment above, at any hour…it's not people's fault but the insulation is just really poorGood – Dimitra from Greece – 19 June 2024 (7/10)
-The location was superb
– the apartment was very clean
– the interior of the building and the apartment was beautiful
-good internet
-the communication with the staff was via WhatsApp and it was more than sufficient
What could be improved: -bad smell in the bathroom
-the building is not sound proof
– according to the rules of the apartment, we should checkout at 10 am max, and by then we should have washed he dishes, let them dry, put them back in the cupboards and take our rubbish with us… Since we were a family of 4 including a small baby and we had to prepare breakfast for all, I found it very stressful to cook and then do all the cleaning mentioned above in order to be ready by 10 am… I believe that at least some of these tasks could also be done by the cleaning service.. I was stressed out in my vacation and wouldn't choose to stay there again for this reason..Great location but you may want to bring ear plugs. – Robert from Ukraine – 1 May 2024 (6/10)
The location was perfect because it was between 2 areas each with many restaurants. There was a small market across the street and a big market (Auchan) not too far away. Many of the restaurants were the typical smaller, cozy, very French food. Highly recommend French House in the central area, helpful staff and very nice cuisine. If you like crowded small streets, don't miss Sainte Catherine street, the longest street with an uncountable number of shops. Lucie, the one who brings the keys was kind and helpful but she doesn't live nearby so you'll have to text with her rather than visit in person.
What could be improved: Unfortunately, the old building meant people above our place could be heard with every step they made and since they had children it did not allow us to sleep because of the jumping from bed to floor. They could get rid of a lot of this noise if they put in a few carpets (hint). Since there were 2 different families that overlapped with our stay, it meant having to try to explain to both families the noise was excessive and they all were confused saying they were not walking with heavy feet. The host was nice enough to get the 1st family to control the children better and when the 2nd family moved in, I chose to politely talk with them and this allowed us to get to sleep. If you don't mind noise at night, please add 2 to 3 stars to my rating. If you can't sleep, it hugely affects your comfort and the overall stay. The shower has no curtain or door and if you use it at night, you'll be putting on a show for the neighbors since the window curtains are almost transparent. I doubt most europeans will care about this but I put it in here to warn the more modest guests.Excellent séjour – Pascale from France – 4 June 2025 (10/10)
Tout était parfait.
La localisation, le calme, la propreté, l’accueil. Appartement venant juste d’être rénové, très agréable.
Commerces et restaurants à proximité.
