Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Seeko’o? Walking up to this sleek, modern cube sitting right on the Garonne riverbank – it’s honestly nothing like the classic Bordeaux architecture you see everywhere else in the city. I mean, when you’re used to all that gorgeous 18th-century limestone, this place feels like someone dropped a piece of contemporary art right onto Quai de Bacalan. But here’s the thing – it totally works.
The location is actually brilliant once you get your bearings. Yeah, you’re in Chartrons, which used to be this old wine merchant district, and now it’s got this cool mix of renovated warehouses and modern developments. The tram line B stops practically at your door (Cité du Vin station), which is perfect because you can zip into the historic center in about fifteen minutes. Speaking of Cité du Vin – that massive wine museum is literally a five-minute walk away, so if you’re here for the wine tourism thing, you’ve hit the jackpot. What I loved though was just wandering along the riverbank in the evenings. There’s this whole promenade that stretches along the water, and you get these incredible views back toward the old city, especially when the light hits those classical facades just right.
The hotel itself feels very… I guess minimalist is the word? Clean lines, lots of glass, that whole design-forward vibe. The rooms are smaller than what you might expect from a 4-star (this is France, after all), but they’re smartly laid out. If you can swing it, definitely go for a river-facing room – waking up to that view of the Garonne is worth the extra euros. The rooftop terrace is where this place really shines though. Come evening, locals and guests mix up there with drinks, and you’ve got this panoramic sweep of Bordeaux spread out in front of you. Fair warning – it gets busy during wine harvest season in September, so book ahead if you’re visiting then.
One thing that surprised me was how quiet it stays at night, even though you’re right on the quai. The building’s well-insulated, and honestly, this part of Chartrons doesn’t get the party crowds that you’d find closer to Place de la Victoire. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle – there’s a garage nearby, but it fills up fast. The staff actually knows the neighborhood really well and can point you toward street parking that won’t cost you a fortune. Check-in was smooth, and they seemed genuinely enthusiastic about helping with restaurant recommendations (take their advice on the little bistros tucked into the side streets – we found some gems that way). It’s the kind of place that works whether you’re here for a romantic weekend or doing the whole Bordeaux wine route thing.
Travelers should reserve a hotel in Bordeaux at least two months ahead of their visit to ensure availability and secure better rates, especially during the peak summer season when the city hosts numerous cultural festivals.

Clean, comfortable and friendly. We arrived very early in the morning after a very delayed flight and were given a very warm welcome by the night manager who made sure we got off to our room in record time. The bed was so comfortable that we slept soundly. Just a shame we didn’t have more time to discover Bordeaux as we had to catch a train that morning to the home of our friends in Lolme. Looks like a lovely city. Maybe next time. Definitely recommend the Seeko’o hotel.

Topfloor room had a nice view over the river, very good bed, super breakfast. We had a wonderful weekend, with a nice dinner next-door (fish) and a night out at the Thelonius Jazz Club around the corner.

Lovely hotel located next to the tramstop alongside the Garonne river. Spacious and clean room with a huge bathtub. Staff very friendly and accommodating. I loved my room and decided to book a weekend in September for my uncle and his wife.
