Hotel Description
So I stumbled upon this little gem tucked away on rue Saint-Hubert in Chartrons, and honestly? It’s one of those finds that makes you feel like you’ve cracked some local code. The studio sits in this wonderfully quiet residential stretch – you know, the kind where you hear actual birds instead of traffic horns – and it’s literally a three-minute stroll to Jardin Public. I mean, when I say three minutes, I’m talking about stopping-to-pet-someone’s-dog kind of walking, not power-walking.
The Chartrons neighborhood is having this amazing moment right now, but it hasn’t gone full tourist-trap yet. You’ve got these incredible antique shops scattered along the streets (perfect for rainy afternoon wandering), and the Saturday morning market on Quai des Chartrons is where locals actually shop – not just where they pose for Instagram photos. What really sold me on this place, though, is how the owner clearly gets what travelers need. The studio has that lived-in feel without being cluttered, and there’s actually decent water pressure in the shower – trust me, after bouncing around France for two weeks, this matters more than you’d think. The kitchen setup is smart too; it’s compact but you can actually cook a real meal if you want to grab some gorgeous produce from the market.
Here’s what nobody tells you about staying in this part of Bordeaux – parking is way easier than in the city center (there’s street parking that doesn’t require a engineering degree to figure out), and you’re still close enough to walk to all the good stuff. The tram’s right there when your feet give out, but honestly, everything feels walkable. I’d catch myself taking these long rambling routes just because the streets are so pretty, especially in the early evening when that golden light hits the limestone buildings. The 8.7 rating makes total sense once you spend a night here – it’s not trying to be fancy, but everything just works. The Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out during video calls, the bed doesn’t feel like sleeping on a park bench, and there’s enough space to actually unpack your suitcase instead of living out of it. Plus, and this might sound weird, but the apartment has really good energy. Sometimes places feel rushed or impersonal, but this one feels like someone actually cares about your experience without hovering over you.
The concierge service in Bordeaux can arrange exclusive wine tastings at prestigious châteaux, secure reservations at Michelin-starred restaurants, and organize personalized tours of the UNESCO World Heritage historic district.

A good stay in a nice apartment for a good price – Bruce from New Zealand – 8 May 2025 (9/10)
The host was very helpful to store our luggage then moved it to the apartment when it was ready. The area was very quiet and walkable into Bordeaux. The apartment was nice although the bathroom and toilet were very cramped.
What could be improved: The shower room was very small and the toilet room was also very small.Lovely apartment and great location – Majella from United Kingdom – 23 September 2024 (9/10)
The apartment is small but we found we had everything we needed.
We are actually considering booking again. Orange juice, water, milk, butter, jams etc were left for us which was much appreciated. You can easily self cater (full oven & hob, microwave). Even umbrellas available if it rained (which it didn't). Wifi was great and correspondence from the owner/agent Sandra was very efficient. Nice, local area and just next to the Jardin Public which we walked through every day. All in all a great stay in beautiful Bordeaux.
What could be improved: Toilet was a bit cramped but we survived.
Other than that we would have no hesitation in booking again.A very clean, lovely room in a quiet residential setting. – Michellerenee from United States – 7 June 2024 (9/10)
The room was very clean. The host provided very nice extras.
What could be improved: I was never given instructions on how to access the property. I messaged the property owner upon arrival and never received a response to my request for more information on how to access my room. If it wasn’t for very friendly fellow residents who knew the property owner and called, I don’t know if I would have gotten into my room at the designated check in time. I changed my arrival time from 4:00 to 3:00 (the standard check in time) more than 24 hours before arrival but didn’t receive an approval until the day of my departure.Exceptional – Elisabeth from Italy – 3 January 2024 (10/10)

a nice place to explore Bordeaux – Tatiana from Russia – 4 December 2022 (9/10)
Location is great. The place is supernice and has all you need for a long stay. The owner and the personnel do they can to make your stay enjoyable.
What could be improved: It would be good to have a washing machine accessible for all rooms. The owner could be a bit forgetful but she does not mean bad by that. So do not be shy by reminding her about your concerns. I strongly recommend a stay in this place.Comfortable staying including what you need as a Traveller. – Masood from Germany – 13 September 2022 (10/10)
