Hotel Description

I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Outsite Bordeaux on Rue Kléber, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The building has this understated charm that’s easy to miss if you’re not paying attention, but once you step inside, you realize that’s kind of the point. This isn’t trying to be some flashy boutique spot; it’s more like staying at a friend’s really well-designed apartment, if your friend happened to have impeccable taste and understood what remote workers actually need.

The location is honestly perfect for getting a feel for real Bordeaux life. You’re tucked into this residential pocket where locals actually live and work, not just the tourist strip down by the river. There’s a boulangerie literally two minutes away where the morning croissant ritual feels authentic rather than performative, and you know what? The staff there started recognizing me after just a couple days. The tram stop is close enough that you’re never stuck, but far enough that you’re not dealing with constant street noise – though I should mention the rooms facing the street do pick up some traffic sounds during rush hour, nothing terrible but worth noting if you’re a light sleeper.

What really sets this place apart is how they’ve thought about the co-living aspect without making it feel forced or corporate. The common areas actually get used because they’re comfortable and functional, not just Instagram-pretty. I ended up having some great conversations over coffee with other travelers, and the wifi is legitimately fast throughout the building – I tested it obsessively because I had video calls to manage. The rooms themselves are clean and well-designed, definitely more spacious than typical European city accommodations, though the bathrooms are compact in that efficient French way. Check-in was smooth, and the staff genuinely seemed to know the neighborhood well enough to give useful recommendations beyond the obvious tourist spots. They pointed me toward this wine bar on Rue Notre-Dame that I never would have found otherwise, and it ended up being one of my favorite discoveries. For a 3-star place, it punches above its weight in terms of creating an experience rather than just providing a bed. The 8.3 rating makes sense to me – it’s not luxury, but it’s thoughtful and genuine in a way that makes Bordeaux feel accessible rather than intimidating.

The concierge service in Bordeaux can arrange exclusive wine tastings at prestigious châteaux, secure reservations at Michelin-starred restaurants, and organize personalized tours of the UNESCO World Heritage historic district.

It's close to the Bordeaux train station and the center of town, which is good. Free laundry (washer/dryer) on site which was nice. Communal kitchen area was cute. Check-in was easy.

This was an experience that we stumbled upon. We did not know about Outsite, but it is a beautiful idea of a well-kept communal living and way better than a hostel.
We were very comfortable and only stayed for 2 nights, but it was super nice to have a FULLY EQUIPPED kitchen.👍🏼There were also washing machines and a gym room and outside area. Not to mention a big dining table and great spaces inside to chill out and work or read a book. We loved it. The bed was super comfortable, and the shower was great.
The other people that were there were super welcoming too. 🙏🏼
