But here’s the insider bit: skip the touristy wine bars near the cathedral and head toward Chartrons district instead. The hotel staff actually gave me decent recommendations, which doesn’t always happen. They pointed me toward this little place on Rue Notre Dame that I never would’ve found otherwise. The breakfast is pretty solid too – nothing fancy, but they do this local honey that’s genuinely good, and the coffee doesn’t taste like it’s been sitting around for hours. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle (welcome to European city centers), but there’s a public garage about two blocks away that won’t completely destroy your budget. The 8.1 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow you away, but it does what it’s supposed to do really well, and in a location like this, that’s honestly what matters most.
