Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest – the name “Magnifiques Appartements Climatises En Plein Coeur Des Chartrons” is a bit of a mouthful, but once you get past that, this place actually surprised me. I mean, you’re literally on Cours de la Martinique, which puts you smack in the middle of Chartrons, and if you know Bordeaux at all, you know that’s where you want to be. The apartments themselves are pretty solid for a 3-star setup – the air conditioning (which is right there in the name, so they’re not kidding around) was a lifesaver when I visited in July. The units feel more like someone’s actual apartment than a sterile hotel room, you know? There’s this lived-in quality that I actually found charming, though I suppose some people might call it slightly worn around the edges.
What really sold me on the location was stepping outside and realizing I could walk to basically everything that matters in this neighborhood. You’ve got the Saturday organic market at Place des Chartrons just a few minutes away – and honestly, if you’re not hitting that market for fresh oysters and local cheese, you’re doing Bordeaux wrong. The whole area has this perfect mix of wine bars, vintage shops, and those little bistros where locals actually eat. I spent way too much time at La Winery just down the street, and there’s this great little bakery (Boulangerie des Chartrons) where I grabbed croissants every morning. The tram stop is right there too, which makes getting to the city center or the train station pretty painless.
Now, it’s not perfect – the building’s got some character, which means you might hear your neighbors a bit more than you’d like, and the décor is sort of stuck somewhere between modern and traditional without fully committing to either. But you know what? For the price point and the location, it works. The check-in process was straightforward enough, though you’ll want to coordinate your arrival time since it’s not a 24-hour front desk situation. I’d definitely recommend this place if you’re the type of traveler who wants to feel like you’re living in Bordeaux rather than just visiting it. The Chartrons district has this authentic, slightly bohemian vibe that’s hard to find in the more touristy parts of the city, and staying here puts you right in the thick of it. Just don’t expect luxury – expect character, good AC, and one of the best neighborhoods in Bordeaux as your backyard.
Travelers should reserve a hotel in Bordeaux at least two months ahead of their visit to ensure availability and secure better rates, especially during the peak summer season when the city hosts numerous cultural festivals.

Reviews
Some bumps but overall worth it – Livia from United Kingdom – 14 June 2025 (7/10)
I really liked the location and the fact that some of the things were already provided as if I was in my own home (dishwasher and laundry tablets, coffee, salt, vinegar etc). Check in and check out was very smooth.
What could be improved: I chose this property and thought I had paid for breakfast as I didn’t want to fetch food at six in the morning when I wake up, but was surprised to hear they said I had not paid for it. There was no way to know who was right, even looked at the booking confirmation email.
The shower head was leaking everywhere but in my head and it took me a while to figure out how to use the other one so I could get a better shower in the end. The toilet is also leaking so I had to fiddle around so the water stopped flowing.
Apart from these bumps, everything else was really smooth.Convenient and comfortable place fot exploring beautiful Bordeaux – Brenda from Canada – 30 June 2024 (8/10)
Greatl location for trams, river, and walking to sights. Quiet Grocery store across the street. Dishwasher and washing machine were handy
What could be improved: Stairs (if you have large suitcases)
Door to building didn’t lockpassable but not worth the money. – Jack from United Kingdom – 31 May 2024 (5/10)
Location excellent. Think they might have got a new mattress as the bed seemed ok.
What could be improved: Would summarise as a fine but generally unloved apartment. Missing basic things like mugs. Never got a reply back to our question. Didnt realise about the hidden 49 euro charge. Generally not impressed.Bad – Lola from United States – 18 November 2024 (1/10)
The location is perfect!!
What could be improved: The bed is terrible!!
Everything is extremely dusty!!Bien – Vincent from France – 14 March 2025 (8/10)
Very good – Jérémie from France – 16 April 2024 (8/10)
What could be improved: Le canapé lit du salon est tout taché. Good – Vidian from France – 25 March 2025 (7/10)
Emplacement parfait 👍
What could be improved: Trouver une place de parking est difficileGood – Henri from France – 9 October 2024 (7/10)
What could be improved: la télévision ne fonctionnait pas
