Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about this place? The moment you walk up to 9 Rue Tustal, you realize you’ve stumbled onto one of those quiet side streets that somehow puts you right in the thick of everything without the tourist chaos. I mean, you’re literally steps from Place Gambetta – and if you know Bordeaux at all, you know that’s prime real estate for getting around the city center.
The apartment itself lives up to that “Magnifique” name, though honestly, it’s the terrace that sold me. Most places in this part of Bordeaux are all cramped balconies or street-level windows, but here you’ve got actual outdoor space where you can sit with your morning coffee and watch the neighborhood wake up. The setup inside is what I’d call “thoughtfully appointed” – it’s a 3-star property, so don’t expect marble countertops, but everything you need is there and it actually works (the wifi is solid, the shower has decent pressure, and the kitchen handles more than just reheating leftovers). The 8.2 rating makes sense once you settle in – there might be a scuff mark here or a slightly squeaky floorboard there, but the bones of the place are good.
What really works about the location is how walkable everything becomes. You can stroll to the Grand Théâtre in about ten minutes, hit the Saturday market at Marché des Capucins without breaking a sweat, and – this is the part locals don’t always share – you’re positioned perfectly to duck into some of the smaller wine bars along Rue des Piliers de Tutelle that tourists usually miss. The neighborhood has that lived-in feel where you’ll see the same café owner every morning and actually start to feel like you belong somewhere. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle (welcome to central Bordeaux), but there’s usually street parking if you’re patient, and honestly, you won’t need a car much once you’re settled. The tram lines are close enough that you can get to the train station or out to the wine regions pretty easily. I’d say this works especially well if you’re planning to stay more than just a weekend – the apartment setup means you can actually live a bit like a local instead of just passing through.
To book a hotel in Bordeaux during the wine harvest season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts wine enthusiasts from around the world.

The location was superb.
What could be improved: The ceiling of the bedroom was quite low but you're only in that room when going to bed.Very good – Lesley from New Zealand – 18 July 2024 (8/10)
The apartment had all the amenities that made staying there very easy and comfortable.
What could be improved: We did not realise the loft bedroom ceiling was so low, and even standing up to get dressed was not easy.Business visit in Bordeaux – Agnieszka from Poland – 18 May 2024 (9/10)
Lacation in the city center, close to main street with shops and restaurants, very good contact with staff, coffee, tee, microven, dishwasher etc in one appartment.
Very good – Jacques from United Kingdom – 29 December 2024 (8/10)
The position of the property
and the privacy
What could be improved: The low mezzanine for the sleeping area It was necessary to bend over to get into bedGreat location. – J from United Kingdom – 6 November 2024 (8/10)
Great location, comfortable and convenient. Very good communication from management.
What could be improved: Mezzanine floor bedroom a bit of a struggle for older people.Very good – Vanessa from Canada – 3 November 2024 (8/10)
Location, and actually had everything we needed.very cute apartment. Lovely having a little outdoor space too.
What could be improved: The very low ceiling in the mezzanine, elderly or disabled people would really struggle with the stairs and head height.Very good – O'bree from Australia – 22 September 2024 (8/10)
Location and kitchen setup good.
What could be improved: The slippery shower floor and the steps up to the mezzanine bed. Once up there we had to stoop under the very low roof. A lot of funky furniture but not very practical to put suitcases etc anywhere.Exceptional – Christiane from Brazil – 14 April 2025 (10/10)
I had a wonderful 3-week stay in this apartment in Bordeaux. The location is excellent – very safe, with a tram station just a short walk away and several markets nearby, which made everyday life super convenient. The apartment is well-equipped with a washing machine, dishwasher, oven, and stove, which made the stay very comfortable. The outdoor area is charming and perfect for relaxing. I also loved the modern decor—it feels stylish and cozy at the same time. The host was incredibly helpful and always quick to respond. I definitely recommend this place and would love to stay here again!
CauêExceptional – Jessica from Sweden – 9 October 2024 (10/10)
This apartment had everything I needed and even more than I expected.
Beautiful decorated apartment, and great design. It was also very cozy pillows and duvet in the bed, I had a really good sleep during the stay.
Also liked to bathroom, felt luxurious and had all I needed. Same with the kitchen. Everything you need and wish for!
The host was very friendly and nice. Thank you for a beautiful stay.
Would definitely come back and stay here again.
What could be improved: I little bad smell from the room where the washing machine and cleaning stuff was. Smelled like mold. But as long as the door to this area was closed it was ok.
