Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about this place? The moment you step inside from Rue Rolland, you actually forget you’re in the middle of one of Bordeaux’s busiest areas. I mean, the street itself is pretty much right in the thick of things – you’re literally a two-minute walk from Place Gambetta, and honestly, you can hear the city humming outside, but somehow the apartment feels like this calm little sanctuary.
The air conditioning is no joke here, which – trust me – you’ll appreciate if you’re visiting during those sweltering July and August weeks when Bordeaux turns into a bit of an oven. I’ve stayed in plenty of places in this neighborhood where you’re basically melting by 2 PM, but this spot keeps things perfectly cool. The setup is actually quite clever too; it’s got this modern apartment vibe but with those classic Bordeaux touches you’d expect from a building in the city center. The windows are decent sized, so you get good natural light during the day, though you might want to keep the curtains drawn if you’re trying to sleep in – the morning sun hits pretty directly, and well, the street does get lively once the shops open up around 9 AM.
What I really loved (and this is something you don’t always get in hyper-center locations) is how walkable everything becomes from here. Sure, you’re surrounded by the usual tourist spots, but you’re also close to where locals actually go. There’s this fantastic little boulangerie just around the corner that most visitors miss, and you can easily walk to the tram stops on Cours de l’Intendance when you want to head out to the wine regions or down to the river. Parking, though – yeah, that’s the one thing that might give you a headache. Street parking around Rue Rolland is pretty much a lost cause during peak hours, but there are a couple of paid lots within a few blocks if you’re driving in.
The 8.7 rating honestly makes sense once you’ve been there a few days. It’s not perfect – the shower pressure could be stronger, and you’ll definitely hear some street noise in the evenings when people are heading to dinner – but it nails the basics really well. The check-in was smooth, everything was clean and actually felt maintained (not always a given with apartment rentals), and the location just works. I mean, you’re genuinely in the heart of everything without feeling like you’re staying in some sterile hotel corridor. When I wanted coffee in the morning, boom – three different cafés within a block. Evening wine? The whole Chartrons district is basically a pleasant fifteen-minute stroll away. It’s one of those places where you end up using it as a proper base rather than just somewhere to crash, if that makes sense.
The concierge service in Bordeaux can arrange exclusive wine tastings at prestigious châteaux, secure reservations at Michelin-starred restaurants, and organize personalized tours of the UNESCO World Heritage historic district.

It was easy to get into the property, as the keys were in a lock box outside. The entrance hall is very dramatic with a very high hallway and lovely old stone staircase to the upper floors. Our apartment was on the second floor, so was a bit of a climb, but not too bad. The apartment itself was fantastic, with views onto internal courtyards, which meant that it was incredibly quiet. The bathroom had a great walk-in shower and the living room was comfortable with good kitchen facilities. We couldn't get the TV to work, so asked for help and a technician came round and sorted it out while we were out. This was a great place to stay and so close to all the sights. I would definitely recommend it.

i messaged the concieige who allowed us to drop off our bags whilst they were cleaning the apartment which was very helpful. She then also gave me the keys so we did not have to arrange another time.
