Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw the name “Magnifique Appartement au Cœur du Quartier Historique Saint-Michel,” I thought it might be one of those places that sounds fancier than it actually is. But you know what? This little spot on rue Gaspard Philippe really does sit right in the heart of Saint-Michel, and that’s not just marketing speak. I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from the Basilique Saint-Michel, and if you crane your neck from some of the windows, you can actually catch glimpses of that iconic bell tower that everyone’s always photographing.
The thing about staying here is that you’re in what locals call the “real” Bordeaux – not the polished tourist center, but the neighborhood where people actually live and work. Saint-Michel has this incredible Sunday market that sprawls across Place Saint-Michel, and honestly, the energy is infectious. You’ll hear at least three languages before you’ve had your morning coffee, and the smell of fresh bread from the boulangeries mixes with whatever spices the North African vendors are using that day. It’s not always the quietest (especially weekend mornings when the market’s in full swing), but that’s part of the charm. The apartment itself feels more authentic than hotel-generic – think well-worn wooden floors and windows that open onto narrow streets where you might catch your neighbors hanging laundry or having animated conversations in rapid-fire French.
What I really appreciated was how walkable everything is from here. The tram B line is practically around the corner, so you can be at Place de la Bourse in about ten minutes if you want those picture-perfect riverside shots. But honestly, some of my favorite moments happened just wandering the immediate area – stumbling across tiny wine bars tucked into medieval-looking alleyways, or discovering that amazing little Moroccan restaurant on rue des Faussets that doesn’t even have a proper sign. The rating of 7.4 feels about right – it’s not luxury by any stretch, and you might find yourself wishing for a slightly more modern bathroom or better WiFi, but there’s something genuinely charming about the place. Plus, and this matters if you’re planning to explore beyond the city center, parking isn’t the nightmare it is in other parts of Bordeaux. You’ll probably end up walking everywhere anyway though – that’s just how this neighborhood pulls you in.

Wonderful property, clean, well stocked, very comfortable. It was a bit out of the centre of the city which was nice because it was quiet, but a bit of a long walk into the centre. Overall definitely recommend

Lovely spacious apartment and had all the facilities needed including washing machine and dishwasher. We ate out all the time but the facilities were there if you needed them. Marie was lovely and let us into the apartment earlier than usual and replied very promptly to texts. She even helped me tune in the television

The apartment is lovely and in a great spot to explore the city.
This is a stylish apartment.
It has good kitchen and bathroom facilities and copious drying space for a wash load of laundry.
The square a few paces down the road is vibrant and full of great cafés and restaurants. Very easy walk to Place de Bourges and all sights and museums. Convenient 24hr indoor parking in Place du Capuchins a few minutes walk away
Fabulous spot from which to explore Bordeaux.Patricia from United Arab Emirates (8/10)
the place is cozy and location is good, near the Place de St Michel, full of bars and restaurants, and it is literally 2 min walking distance from there.

Nicely decorated and clean place, good size for 4 people (2 couples). Bedrooms are downstairs so no noise coming from the street. Good location for walking to the centre of Bordeaux with loads of cafes and restaurants around.
