Hotel Description
So here’s the thing about this place on Cours de Verdun – I wasn’t expecting much from the name “Lovely apartment,” honestly. Sounds like something someone threw together in five minutes, right? But walking into this spot in Chartrons, you realize the name’s actually doing it a disservice. The terrace really is exceptional, and I mean that in the most literal sense. You’re perched above one of Bordeaux’s coolest neighborhoods with this sprawling outdoor space that feels way more expensive than what you’re paying for. The morning light hits just right when you’re having coffee out there, and you can actually see the Garonne if you crane your neck a bit. What struck me most was how quiet it gets in the evenings – Cours de Verdun can be busy during the day with trams and foot traffic, but once the sun starts setting, it mellows out completely.
The Chartrons location is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in Bordeaux rather than just visiting. You’re a five-minute walk from all those wine bars along Quai des Chartrons (the locals call it just “the quai”), and you can hit the Saturday organic market at Place des Chartrons without dealing with tourist crowds. I spent way too much money at that market, but the cheese vendor there – this older guy with the most incredible selection – he’ll actually let you taste things if you show genuine interest. The apartment itself feels lived-in in the best way possible. Nothing’s too precious or hotel-sterile, and the kitchen actually has proper knives and decent pans, which you know is rare in vacation rentals. The terrace furniture isn’t just decorative either – those chairs are actually comfortable enough to spend hours reading in.
What really sells this place, though, is that it sits in this sweet spot where you’re surrounded by authentic Bordeaux life but still close enough to walk to the city center when you want the full tourist experience. The tram stop is literally right there (line B, if you’re keeping track), so you can be at Place de la Bourse in ten minutes or hit the wine museum without breaking a sweat. Parking can be a bit tricky on the street – typical for this part of town – but there’s usually something within a block or two if you’re patient. The hosts were pretty straightforward about check-in, no weird complications or mystery key situations. Look, at a rating of 9, you’re getting exactly what you’d expect from a well-run place, just with this bonus outdoor space that makes you want to cancel dinner plans and stay in with a bottle of wine from the shop around the corner. It’s the kind of spot where you actually feel disappointed when your trip’s over, which doesn’t happen as often as you’d think.
Travelers should reserve a hotel in Bordeaux at least two months ahead of their visit to ensure availability and secure better rates, especially during the peak summer season when the city hosts numerous cultural festivals.

Reviews
A beautiful apartment in a great location. No air conditioning so it was hot, but we knew that in advance – Caitriona from Ireland – 16 July 2025 (9/10)
Great outdoor space, very spacious apartment
What could be improved: No wardrobe in room with sofa-bed. Also why no bed??Exceptional – Frances from Australia – 31 May 2025 (10/10)
The 3 bedroom apartment has classic French charm. Located in the Chartruns area which is very close to the CBD and river and to a range of local restaurants and cafes. It is also directly opposite the Le Jardin public park which was a beautiful space to stroll through. The tramline is also right out the front door.
What could be improved: The apartment could benefit from having more lounge chairs to sit on, particularly if you are travelling with a group of friends or have children.Charming french apartment – Marie from Ireland – 10 November 2024 (9/10)
Loved this apartment. Very spacious with comfortable bedrooms, sitting room/dining area. Kitchen had all the amenities. The terrace is large and ideal to relax with some wine in the evenings. Catherine met us on arrival at the apartment and was very informative about Bordeaux and helpful in pointing out places of interest.
What could be improved: We had no complaintsSuperb – Colleen from United Kingdom – 21 June 2024 (9/10)
Good location
Exceptional – Colin from Canada – 28 May 2024 (10/10)
Location was excellent. Apartment was well equipped. Host's representative Catherine was amazing. Terrace exceeded expectations. Great neighborhood.
Excellent – Nasrin from United Kingdom – 3 April 2023 (9/10)
Excellent location!
What could be improved: I waited to hear from the host, before the trip, to see if it was possible to check in or leave our luggages before the 3pm suggested on the site. I didn't have a response.l received a form related to the arrival time that wouldn't give any options before 3pm check in. Anyway we managed to contact them after we arrived in Bordeaux and they kindly arranged for us to check in at 12 noon. We were happy😊Superb – Louise from Ireland – 20 May 2025 (9/10)
A great location and we absolutely loved the terrace. Great apartment and Stephane was brilliant and so helpful.
What could be improved: Better if option for more twin beds as not all like sharing beds. Also soap in bathroom would be good.Very good – Chang from United Kingdom – 16 April 2025 (8/10)
It was a wonderful dinner sitting on the balcony. There was a big space for youngsters to sit around and enjoy the atmosphere. Excellent location makes the walking around so easy too.
Very nice – Xiaofei from China – 14 February 2024 (9/10)
Very nice stay, large room, convenient to downtown, large size terrace and free parking provided.
What could be improved: Need more lighting in living room.Ok, but not what it portrays to be. – Fiorenza from United States – 12 July 2025 (6/10)
The property was well located and the place was spacious
What could be improved: I did not like the fact that it wasn’t privately owned and it appeared to be owned by a conglomerate. It showed on the details, as the place lacked warmth and personal touches. The terrace needed a lot if care as the plants were dying. The welcome staff, although nice, failed to properly explained the use of the parking which resulted in us having to pay for something that should have been free.
