Hotel Description
You know what really struck me about this place? The moment I walked up to 3 Rue Louis Combes, I realized I’d stumbled onto something special – and honestly, the name doesn’t do it justice. Sure, “Louis Combes – Localisation exceptionnelle 1 chambre parking” sounds like someone just threw together a property listing, but man, they weren’t kidding about that location part.
I mean, you’re literally in the heart of Bordeaux’s city center here. I could walk to Place de la Bourse in maybe eight minutes (I actually timed it one morning), and the Garonne riverfront is right there when you want that classic Bordeaux postcard moment. What I really loved though – and this is something you only figure out after staying a few nights – is how quiet Rue Louis Combes actually stays despite being so central. The street has this perfect balance where you’re close enough to hear the city humming, but tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with the late-night crowds stumbling back from Rue Saint-Rémi. The parking situation is honestly a godsend if you’re driving in – anyone who’s tried to find a spot near the old town knows what I’m talking about.
The apartment itself feels like someone’s carefully curated Bordeaux pied-à-terre rather than your typical rental. Everything’s been thought through in that understated French way, and I appreciated the little touches that made it feel lived-in rather than sterile. The bedroom gets great morning light (though if you’re sensitive to early sun, just saying), and there’s enough space to actually unpack and settle in properly. What surprised me was how well-equipped the kitchen area was – I ended up grabbing fresh stuff from Marché des Capucins and cooking a couple of evenings, which honestly became some of my favorite moments of the trip. The whole place has this warm, honey-colored light in the afternoons that makes you want to just sit with a glass of wine and plan your next day’s wandering. I did notice the building has that classic Bordeaux stone charm, though you’ll hear your neighbors occasionally – not obnoxiously, just the normal sounds of people living their lives. The 8.7 rating makes total sense to me; it’s one of those places that delivers exactly what it promises without any flashy nonsense, just solid comfort in an absolutely prime location where you can walk to incredible restaurants, slip into wine bars that locals actually frequent, and still feel like you have a proper home base to return to.
Hotels in Bordeaux offer guests the perfect blend of French elegance and modern comfort, with many featuring wine cellars and sommelier services to enhance the authentic regional experience.

What could be improved: NothingPerfect location, perfect apartment – Steven from Australia – 26 May 2025 (10/10)
Location, location, location. The apt has been modernised and is the perfect place to stay in Bordeaux, so central and easy to access. The apt has everything you need for a few days stay. Parking is provided. It is in a public secure car park about 10 minutes walk away, but given Bordeaux is car free, this is a small price to pay. The owner has put a lot of love into the apt, fully equiped kitchen. Very comfortable and clean. We felt completely at home here. Would definitely recommend to friends. The agents who manage the apt are very responsive. Big ✔️

The apartment manager was ver responsive which was nice. – Beverly from United States – 24 August 2024 (6/10)
Location was excellent. Well equipped kitchen
What could be improved: Minimal basics such as ; towels, toilet paper, pillows, trash bags. We weren’t aware that it was a bank holiday & there was an extra charge for that.On arrival, the place was hot, understocked, and checkout costly — but the location was excellent. – Anonymous from New Zealand – 20 June 2025 (5/10)
The property is very central and well located. It has high ceilings which gave a great feeling of space.
What could be improved: We had to book a check in and check out time to meet with the host. Because our check-out was a Sunday, we had to pay EUR30 extra for checking out. They had no electronic payment method for this, either cash or pay into their bank account. Upon arrival, the place was extremely hot, there were not enough toilet paper, nor dishwasher and washing soap for our 3 night stay. Also, the bedside lamp's light bulb was missing. Later we found that all the wall heaters were turned on full blast (in the middle of summer), which made the place VERY uncomfortably HOT.
