Honestly, when I first walked into this loft on Rue Courbin, I wasn’t prepared for how spacious it would feel – you know how city center accommodations can be cramped, but this place actually breathes. The street itself is perfectly positioned between the cathedral and the Grand Théâtre, which means you’re literally surrounded by the best of old Bordeaux without being stuck in tourist chaos.

What really got me was the terrace situation. I mean, having your own private outdoor space in the heart of Bordeaux is already pretty special, but when there’s an actual pool up there? It’s a game-changer, especially during those sticky summer evenings when the city heat lingers. The gym is compact but well-equipped – not some afterthought with two broken machines like you sometimes get. I used it a few mornings and never ran into crowds, probably because most guests are too busy exploring the wine bars within walking distance. Speaking of which, you’re about three minutes from Utopie and Bar à Vin, both absolute gems that locals frequent. The apartment itself has this industrial-chic thing going on that doesn’t feel forced – exposed beams, polished concrete, but still warm somehow. The kitchen is properly functional too, which matters if you hit the Marché des Capucins (five-minute walk) and want to cook with those incredible local ingredients.

Here’s what I wish someone had told me before booking: parking can be tricky on Rue Courbin itself, but there’s a decent public garage on Cours de l’Intendance, maybe two blocks away. Also, while the 4-star rating and 9.3 score aren’t exaggerated – the place really is that well-maintained and thoughtfully designed – it does get lively on weekend nights since you’re in the entertainment district. Not obnoxiously loud, but you’ll hear people heading home from dinner around midnight. The check-in process was refreshingly smooth, and the host actually knows the neighborhood well enough to give you insider tips about which wine shops stay open late and where to grab the best canelés without waiting in tourist lines. What struck me most was how this place manages to feel like a luxury retreat while keeping you connected to authentic Bordeaux life – you can slip downstairs for morning coffee at a neighborhood café where they know regulars by name, then come back to your private pool when the afternoon sun hits just right.

  Great location, in the centre, but a quiet side street. Minutes away from the main attractions. A large 3rd floor apartment, very clean. Free bread delivery each morning. No need for a car, take the excellent tram or bus network.

  Very clean, modern, and nicely furnished apartment. The pictures are very accurate. Excellent location in the center of Bordeaux. The building was quiet. It was very relaxing. The little restaurant across the street less than 25m away was absolutely fantastic and there were so many great places to eat and drink just around the corner. We will stay here again!

  What could be improved: * Did not have heat and it got cold. Staff advised that they couldn’t activate heat for one apartment only since they have just switched to summer mode…🤷‍♂️
  * They only provide 2 towels. We had to request additional ones. Also, there is nowhere to hang a towel when taking a shower
  * Elevator quit working and we had to move luggage down from third floor manually. They offered help but there was nobody on site and we needed to leave.
  * No staff on site. You need to communicate via text message.
  If they would take care of the above items, the rating would be higher. American tourists are used to all those details.
