Hotel Description
I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Les Suites de Saint Amand on Rue Lafayette, I almost missed it. The entrance is sort of understated in that effortlessly French way, tucked between the bustling shops that make this part of Bordeaux’s city center so addictive to wander through. But once you’re inside, you get it. This isn’t trying to be some flashy chain hotel – it’s got that boutique feel where someone actually thought about every detail.
The suites themselves are what really won me over. I mean, you’re not just getting a room with a bed shoved against the wall – these are proper living spaces with separate areas that actually make sense. The kitchenettes aren’t just for show either; I ended up using mine way more than expected, especially after hitting the weekend markets near Place des Quinconces (about a five-minute walk, by the way). The design strikes this nice balance between modern comfort and respecting the building’s character – you know, exposed stone here and there without feeling like you’re sleeping in a museum. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night, which honestly surprised me given that you’re right in the thick of things on Lafayette.
Here’s what you should know if you’re considering staying here: the location is absolutely killer for exploring Bordeaux properly. You’re close enough to the Grand Théâtre that you can swing by for evening shows without planning your whole day around it, but you’re also perfectly positioned for those spontaneous wine bar discoveries that make Bordeaux so special. The tram stops are super close – Hôtel de Ville is literally around the corner – so getting out to places like Darwin or the wine estates becomes actually doable. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle (welcome to European city centers), but there’s a public garage nearby, and honestly, you probably won’t need a car much once you’re settled in. The staff seems to genuinely know the neighborhood – they pointed me toward this incredible little fromage shop on Rue Sainte-Catherine that I never would have found otherwise. With an 8.3 rating, it’s clearly doing something right, and after spending a few days there, I get why people keep coming back. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re living in Bordeaux rather than just passing through.

Incredible location and a quiet building given how central it is. Easy access to the main square and riverboat cruises. We would stay again. The lady who cleans the flats and hands over the keys was very informative and helpful – a nice welcome to the flat!

This location couldn't be any better. Just off Place de la Bourse and next to tram stops, in the middle of everything you might want to see and do in Bordeaux. The place is small but a great size for two people.
