Les Bonbonieres d’Andrea Gavinies Pellegrin Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Les Bonbonieres d’Andrea Gavinies Pellegrin on Rue d’Ornano, you know you’ve found something special. This three-star boutique property has that unmistakable French charm — the kind where every detail feels intentional, from the elegant facade to the way the morning light hits the entrance. Honestly, the name alone tells you this isn’t your typical chain hotel, and the 9.7 rating starts making sense the moment you step inside.

Perfect Bordeaux Location

The location is honestly brilliant — I mean, couples rate it 9.5 for good reason. You’re in the heart of Bordeaux but on a quieter street that locals actually know about, which means you get the best of both worlds. The tram stops are close enough that you can reach the historic center in minutes, but you’re also walking distance from some fantastic neighborhood bistros that tourists usually miss. What I love is how you can stroll to the Garonne riverfront for evening walks, or head the other direction toward the Chartrons district for wine bars that stay open late.

The Rooms

Each room feels like staying in a carefully curated Bordeaux apartment — and I mean that in the best way. The design strikes this perfect balance between traditional French elegance and modern comfort, with thoughtful touches that show someone actually cares about the guest experience. The beds are genuinely comfortable (not just hotel-marketing comfortable), and the bathrooms have that clean, contemporary feel without losing character. You know what really impressed me? The attention to lighting — there are actually enough outlets where you need them, and the reading lights work properly.

Local Character

This place captures something authentic about Bordeaux that bigger hotels often miss. The staff knows the neighborhood inside and out — they’ll point you toward the morning market on Saturday or suggest which wine shop actually has reasonable prices. There’s this genuine warmth here that feels distinctly French, where hospitality means helping you experience the city like someone who lives here. The building itself has character too, with those high ceilings and period details that remind you you’re staying somewhere with real history. Every corner reveals thoughtful design choices that enhance your stay.

Why Guests Love It

People keep coming back because Les Bonbonieres d’Andrea Gavinies Pellegrin delivers on what matters most — location, comfort, and that intangible sense of place that makes a trip memorable. The combination of being perfectly positioned in Bordeaux while maintaining an intimate, personal atmosphere is honestly rare. Whether you’re here for the wine culture, the architecture, or just to soak up that particular French art of living well, this hotel gets it right. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself planning your next visit before you’ve even checked out.

Reviews of Les Bonbonieres d’Andrea Gavinies Pellegrin

  • William from Malta (10/10)

Very comfortable, spotlessly clean and very well equipped apartment. 20 minute walk to Cathedral and very well connected to city centre via tram (tram stop1 minute walk) and also bus to train station (5 minute walk). Host patrick was so helpful and fortcoming with all the information required to make our stay in Bordeaux (and also exploring further) so pleasant. He even offered us a lift to the train station to get a train to Paris. Patrick instantly responded to our questions via WhatsApp before arrival and also during our stay. Could not ask for a better host. As we stayed for 5 nights we found the washing machine very helpful. Highly recommended apartment.

  • Maria from United Kingdom (10/10)

Beautiful apartment and a wonderful host. We had such a pleasant stay.
The terrace is a tranquil place to rest, recharge and enjoy. A tidy arrangement of flowers and a pleasant amount of sun.
Tram stop right outside, convenient from the airport, even more convenient into town.
    Couldn't recommend it more!

  • Dru from United Kingdom (7/10)

The apartment is nice and ok for a few days . The owner is lovely and is there at all times to help.
Neighbourhood was quiet, not to far from centre and tram stop outside .
Ac in living room and small kitchen well equipped to cook if you want.
