Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Le Well Done? The name sounds a bit quirky – honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect – but this little T2 apartment on rue de Ruat turned out to be exactly what Bordeaux should feel like. I mean, you’re literally in the heart of the city center, and that terrasse they mention? It’s actually worth getting excited about, especially if you grab some wine from one of the nearby caves and watch the evening light hit the old stone buildings.
The location is sort of perfect if you want to do Bordeaux properly. Rue de Ruat is this quiet residential street that locals actually live on (not just tourists stumbling around), but you’re maybe a five-minute walk from Place Gambetta and all that action. I loved that I could slip out for morning coffee without dealing with crowds, then be at the Grand Théâtre or wandering the Chartrons district whenever I felt like it. The apartment itself has that lived-in feel – not like some sterile hotel room, but actually comfortable. The terrace became my favorite spot for that late afternoon apéro hour when the city starts to slow down and you can hear conversations drifting up from the street below.
What really sold me, though, was how the whole experience felt authentically Bordeaux rather than tourist-Bordeaux, if that makes sense. The building fits right into the neighborhood’s rhythm – you’ll hear church bells from nearby Saint-Seurin in the morning, catch the scent of fresh bread from the boulangerie around the corner, that sort of thing. Sure, it’s a 3-star place so don’t expect luxury touches, but honestly the 8.6 rating feels about right. Everything works well, it’s clean and thoughtfully set up, and – this matters more than you’d think – the wifi actually handles video calls if you need to check in with work or family back home. The only minor thing I’d mention is that being in the city center means some street noise, but it’s more charming than disruptive, especially once you get used to the rhythm of delivery trucks in the early morning. For the price point and that terrasse situation, plus being able to walk everywhere that matters in Bordeaux? It’s honestly a pretty solid choice, particularly if you’re the type who’d rather feel like you’re staying in someone’s neighborhood than in hotel-land.

Quite, comfortable and right in the centre of everything – Nikki from Australia – 28 May 2025 (10/10)
Location was great and very quiet. Comfortable with great amenities.
Great location – Emma-leigh from United Kingdom – 14 April 2025 (8/10)
Great location. Small and compact but had everything we needed. The host, Laura, who welcomed us was lovely and gave us some good recommendations
What could be improved: We checked in after hours between 10pm-12 midnight. It cost an additional €25 which we weren’t expecting. It took a lot of messages back and forth to get the payment link to book the late arrival and confirm it, which was quite stressful. Also the bed wasn’t very comfortable.Superb – Ioannis from Greece – 29 November 2024 (9/10)
A really comfortable place to stay. Beside the tram station, shopping streets and other important main attractions of the city. A huge amazing bookstore just in the corner.

What could be improved: N/ASuper clean apartment in a great location! – Territakespics from Portugal – 25 December 2023 (10/10)
My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in December and really enjoyed our stay. The apartment is immaculate and very well appointed with dishes, utensils, towels, extra bedding, and cooking supplies. It even has a dishwasher, washer, and dryer. The Wi-Fi worked great as did the heat. The location is perfect, close to numerous shops, restaurants, and attractions. It is located on a pedestrian only street, so it was very quiet. We really appreciated the little extras like coffee pods, tea bags, and lap blankets. We would stay here again for sure!
What could be improved: Can't think of anything! The apartment had everything we needed and was in a great location – Paul from France – 25 September 2023 (9/10)
The location was perfect. So close to shops, restaurants and all modes of transport. The bed was really comfortable and the small terrace was great also.
Good customer service – Marilu’ from United Kingdom – 27 June 2023 (8/10)
Location
Very good – Ken from United Kingdom – 21 June 2025 (8/10)
Great location, well equipped.
What could be improved: Your representative who met us was a little rude; critical that I didn't reply to his message immediately and annoyed that we were a little late arriving.Great little place near center of old town. – Liberia from Canada – 8 May 2025 (8/10)
Location, location, location! Major tram line close by. Lots of restaurants, bakeries, and grocery shops within walking distance. Safe to walk at night. Close enough to centre of old town without being exposed to noise.
What could be improved: Bed was okay but pillows were way too soft and almost didn't have any structure to them. Apartment had a slight musty smell to it. Not sure if it hadn't been used in a while or if it was just because of it being an old building made of stone foundations and proximity of Bordeaux to the Atlantic.
