Hotel Description
Honestly, when I first walked into Le Particulier on rue Porte Dijeaux, I wasn’t expecting much – you know how some boutique hotels can feel a bit pretentious? But this place actually gets it right. The building itself has that classic Bordeaux stone facade that blends perfectly with the historic center, and once you’re inside, there’s this intimate vibe that feels more like staying at a well-traveled friend’s place than a typical hotel.
What really struck me was the location – I mean, you’re literally in the heart of everything without the tourist trap feeling. Rue Porte Dijeaux connects you to all the main shopping streets, and you can walk to Place de la Bourse in about eight minutes (I timed it because I’m weird like that). The staff actually knows the neighborhood too, which is refreshing. When I asked about finding a good wine bar that wasn’t too touristy, the front desk guy immediately recommended this tiny place around the corner that I never would’ve found otherwise. The rooms have this modern-meets-historic thing going on – clean lines but with original architectural details that remind you you’re in a building with serious history. My room faced the street, and yes, there’s some noise during the day since it’s a pedestrian shopping area, but it dies down completely by evening, and honestly, the energy outside made me feel more connected to the city.
What I appreciated most was how the hotel doesn’t try too hard to be something it’s not. It’s a solid four-star place that delivers on comfort without the fussy extras that jack up prices. The bathroom was genuinely spacious (rare in these old Bordeaux buildings), and they’d clearly invested in good mattresses and blackout curtains – small details that matter when you’re actually trying to sleep. Check-in was smooth, no weird policies about holding your passport or anything like that. The breakfast area gets crowded around 9 AM, but if you go a bit earlier or later, it’s actually quite pleasant. I found myself lingering there with coffee, planning my day while watching people hurry past the windows to work. You’re close enough to everything that you don’t need to stress about transportation – the tram stops are nearby if you want to head to the wine regions, but most of Bordeaux’s best stuff is walkable from here. The 8.8 rating makes total sense to me; it’s the kind of place that does the fundamentals really well without any major surprises, good or bad.

Great apartment in a great location – Margaret from Ireland – 28 May 2025 (9/10)
Location is amazing, great space. We were a party of 5 adults and lots of space for us all.
Great communication before and arriving. Antwan met us and showed us in and gave us advice about the local area also. There is a Nespresso machine and they leave you sugar/sat/oil/pods etc
What could be improved: Couch’s were a little low for our older family but it didn’t matter as seats at table were close anyway and we weren’t sitting for longExcellent accomodation in a fabulous location – Trudy from Australia – 29 April 2025 (9/10)
The location of the property was excellent and the balcony was an added bonus. The lift was also very handy as we had many cases and one of us had a knee injury
What could be improved: NothingExcellent find – will return – Dominica from United Kingdom – 14 September 2024 (10/10)
Very good location
But quiet at night no issue sleeping and yet so close to main shopping street / loads of restaurants
What could be improved: The small bedroom needs a better bed
And maybe the cleaners could do a little dusting around. But otherwise really excellentIdeal location – Marion from United Kingdom – 5 August 2024 (9/10)
Fantastic location – you are literally in the town centre. The property has a lift right into the flat itself. There is as an outside area / balcony too . I would highly recommend this property.

No toilet roll holder a few lose floor boards in the living room no accessible power points in third bedroomWe loved the apt and hosts were helpful. – Melanie from Spain – 27 February 2025 (9/10)
Great location and host was wonderful!
What could be improved: The living room needed to be cleaner a bit especially the rug.
Small bed was not really made for an adult.Nice apartment to explore Bordeaux and its vicinity. – Famil from Netherlands – 16 August 2024 (9/10)
The apartment is located in old centre of Bordeaux, which is nice but comes with a challenge. You may not drive to it and have to leave the car in garage and take your suitcases to the apartment. Nearest garage is 250 m. However, once you are there, rest is perfect. You are in the middle of the city with many highlights within a walking distance. The apartment was clean. All equipment worked.
Somebody came to give us keys and explained everything, as well as providing useful tips.
What could be improved: There are 3 bedrooms and one living room. However, airco is only in living room.
