Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to LE FEEL GOOD on rue St Rémy, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes those assumptions bite you in the ass. This little hotel actually surprised me, and I mean that in the best way possible.

The location is pretty much perfect if you want to actually experience Bordeaux instead of just seeing it. You’re literally in the heart of the old city center, where those narrow medieval streets wind around in ways that would confuse your GPS but somehow make perfect sense once you start walking. I could roll out of bed and grab coffee at one of those tiny café counters where locals read their morning paper – the kind of spots tourists usually walk right past. The Cathédrale Saint-André is maybe a five-minute stroll, and honestly, the evening light hitting those Gothic spires from the hotel’s upper floors… well, let’s just say I took way too many photos. Place du Parlement is right there too, which means you’re surrounded by all those gorgeous 18th-century facades, but also – and this matters if you’re actually staying here – decent restaurants that aren’t total tourist traps.

Now, about the hotel itself. It’s got this laid-back vibe that matches its name perfectly. Nothing fancy, but everything works, and the staff genuinely seems to give a damn about whether you’re having a good time. The rooms are clean and comfortable enough, though don’t expect luxury – think more “cozy Bordeaux apartment” than “grand hotel.” The walls are a bit thin (you might hear your neighbors if they’re having an enthusiastic conversation), but honestly, the street noise dies down pretty early since it’s mostly pedestrian traffic. I actually found the sounds kind of charming – people chatting as they walked by, the occasional clatter from the boulangerie next door starting their day at dawn. Check-in was smooth, no drama, and they had solid recommendations for wine bars that weren’t completely overrun with tour groups. One thing I really appreciated – they understand that people want to explore, so they’re flexible with luggage storage if you arrive early or need to stick around after checkout. Small detail, but it matters when you’re trying to squeeze every hour out of your trip.

The 7.2 rating seems about right to me – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it does exactly what it promises. If you’re the type who wants to fall asleep to the gentle buzz of a living neighborhood and wake up ready to wander cobblestone streets with a proper café au lait in hand, this place gets it. I mean, you could stay somewhere fancier in the business district, but then you’d miss out on that feeling of actually being part of Bordeaux instead of just visiting it. Plus, let’s be real – you’re probably going to spend most of your time exploring anyway, so why not have a comfortable, well-located base that doesn’t break the bank?

We loved the location and the size and feel of the living area. The view over the street is iconic – all that warm limestone.
    The shower was excellent.
Transport is fabulous and very close, as are many restaurants and bars.
Aircon is available in both the living and bedroom which would matter in cold or hot seasons.
