Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be straight with you about LE 61 – it’s one of those finds that makes you feel like you’ve cracked some local code. This furnished T2 apartment sits right on rue de la Rousselle, and I mean right in the thick of things in Bordeaux’s old center. When I first walked up to number 61, honestly, the building looked pretty typical for that area – classic Bordeaux stone, nothing flashy – but that’s actually part of what I ended up loving about it.
The apartment itself is what the French do really well: functional without being sterile, you know? The balcon they mention isn’t huge, but it’s perfectly sized for morning coffee and people-watching (and trust me, rue de la Rousselle gives you plenty to watch). The furnishing feels thoughtful rather than just thrown together – I mean, someone actually considered how you’d live here for a few days, not just sleep. What really got me was how quiet it stays despite being so central. I was expecting street noise all night, but the windows do their job well. The 4-star rating feels about right – it’s polished and comfortable without trying to be some fancy boutique experience.
Here’s what you need to know if you’re thinking about staying here: you’re literally a three-minute walk from Place du Parlement, which means you’re already deeper into the real Bordeaux than most tourists ever get. The wine bars along rue des Argentiers are right there, and honestly, that alone might be worth the booking. Parking is… well, it’s city center Bordeaux, so manage your expectations, but there’s a public garage on rue des Remparts that’s walkable. The 7 rating seems fair – nothing’s going to blow your mind, but nothing’s going to disappoint either. It’s solid, well-located, and the kind of place where you actually feel like you’re staying in Bordeaux rather than just visiting it. If you want to be able to stumble back from dinner on rue Saint-Rémi without calling a cab, this is your spot.
