It’s actually in one of those quiet residential pockets of Chartrons that most tourists completely miss – and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it special. Rue des Retaillons feels more like where locals live than where visitors stay, which means you’re waking up to the sound of neighbors heading to the boulangerie instead of tour groups chattering outside your window.

The flat itself is… well, they weren’t kidding about the “large” part. I mean, after cramming into those shoebox hotel rooms you get in central Bordeaux, this place feels almost generous. The living space actually lets you spread out your stuff without playing Tetris with your luggage, and the kitchen – it’s not just one of those mini-fridges with a hot plate situations. You can actually cook here if you want, though honestly, with all the incredible food in Chartrons, you might not bother much. The “comfy” part is pretty accurate too – the furniture feels lived-in rather than showroom-perfect, which I actually prefer. There’s something about places that feel a bit broken-in that just makes you relax faster.

Location-wise, you’re about a fifteen-minute walk from the main Chartrons action along Cours Portal-Cailhau (those antique shops and wine bars everyone raves about), but close enough to the river that you can easily stroll down to the Saturday morning organic market at Place des Chartrons. The tram’s not exactly around the corner, but it’s not a trek either – maybe seven or eight minutes to the nearest stop? Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this neighborhood, like most of Bordeaux really, but the streets around here aren’t as crazy competitive as the stuff closer to Place des Quinconces. What I really appreciated was how the area just… quiets down in the evenings. Not dead quiet – you’ll still hear people coming home from dinner, maybe some laughter from the café terraces a few blocks over – but it’s that perfect level where you can actually sleep with the windows cracked open in summer. The whole Chartrons district has this slightly village-y feeling despite being right in the city, and this particular street captures that perfectly. Sure, it’s not the fanciest setup you’ll find, and the building itself has that slightly weathered charm that comes with French residential architecture, but sometimes that’s exactly what you want. Especially if you’re planning to spend your days exploring the wine bars and your evenings just wanting to collapse somewhere that feels a bit like home.

  It's for my family. The appartmente is on first floor with three bedrooms, the disadvantage is that there is basically only one window, and no windows for any of bedrooms.
  Quite spacious, the kitchen is not equipped with range hood, which is really not friendly to cook Chinese food.

  Las camas muy cómodas buena comunicación con el dueño y cerca del centro, tiene tres dormitorios, un sofá cama en el comedor y tres baños dos de ellos con las duchas y lavabos ( sin bater) el tercero solo bater ..está bien la verdad , buena calefacción y el termo es eléctrico muy grande es difícil que te quedes sin agua caliente
