You know what caught me off guard about L’Appart D’Oli et Tiane? I walked past it twice before realizing this unassuming building on Rue Ravez was actually my accommodation for the week. From the outside, it blends right into the classic Bordeaux streetscape – which, honestly, I loved. No flashy hotel signage or tourist crowds milling about. Just a quiet residential street in the heart of the city center where you can actually hear yourself think (well, except for the occasional tram rumbling by, but that’s Bordeaux for you).

Once you’re inside though – I mean, wow. Oli and Tiane have created something really special here. The apartment feels like staying at a friend’s place, if your friend happened to have impeccable taste and attention to detail. The exposed stone walls and original wooden beams give you that authentic Bordeaux character, but everything’s been thoughtfully updated. The kitchen actually works – and I say this as someone who’s stayed in too many places where the stovetop is more decorative than functional. I ended up cooking breakfast most mornings because the local marché des Capucins is just a fifteen-minute walk away, and honestly, starting your day with fresh croissants and coffee in that bright living room beats any hotel breakfast buffet. The Wi-Fi is solid too, which matters if you’re trying to get some work done between wine tastings.

What really sets this place apart is the location intelligence behind it. Rue Ravez puts you right in the sweet spot – you’re close enough to walk to the Grand Théâtre and all the main shopping streets, but far enough from the touristy chaos around Place de la Bourse that you get a real feel for how locals live. There’s this excellent little wine bar, Le Flacon, literally around the corner that most visitors never find. And here’s a practical tip: parking can be tricky in this neighborhood, but Oli was super helpful about pointing me toward the nearest public garage. The whole check-in process was smooth – they met me right at the apartment and walked me through everything, including how to work the slightly temperamental shower (which, by the way, has excellent water pressure once you figure out the quirky handle). At 9.8 rating, you’d expect something special, and it delivers. This isn’t just a place to crash between sightseeing – it’s the kind of spot that makes you want to spend lazy afternoons planning your next Bordeaux adventure.

  Fantastic location in the old town, handy for airport trams and everything you would expect in a modern city.

  The apartment is in an excellent location for walking around the city, or using the trams. Our hosts were wonderful! They took the time to point out all the city had to offer and how to get to each of the places. Very welcoming!

  I came by car and easily parked at nearby parking (2-3 min walk). Hosts, Oli and Tiane waited for me at the entrance. Not only did they show me the apartment, but also gave me a good info about the interesting places in Bordeaux. The apartment was clean, spacious with comfy bed(s) and good table for work, if you need one. The shower was very good and the kitchen was fully equipped. The location is perfect, in the central area near major sightseeing spots and numerous dining options. Thank you, Oli and Tiane for the warm welcome.
