L’annexe de ma cabane Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to L’annexe de ma cabane on Rue de Macau, you’ll notice this isn’t your typical hotel setup — and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it special. The name translates to “the annex of my cabin,” which gives you a pretty good idea of the cozy, personal vibe you’re getting into. It’s tucked away on a quiet street in Bordeaux, but don’t let the residential feel fool you — you’re actually in a prime spot that locals know well.
Location & Getting Around
This three-star spot sits right in the heart of things, and I mean that literally — recent guests rated the location 8.6 out of 10, which is pretty impressive. You’re walking distance from the historic center, and the tram lines are close enough that you can easily hop over to the wine districts or the riverfront. What really caught my attention though is the free parking — and if you’ve ever tried to park in central Bordeaux, you know that’s basically like finding gold. The convenience of having a dedicated parking space means you can explore the city without worrying about your vehicle.
The Space Itself
The whole concept here is more like staying in someone’s thoughtfully designed annex than a standard hotel room. Each space has this intimate, cabin-inspired feel that the name promises, but it’s been updated with modern touches that actually work. I appreciated how they’ve managed to keep things cozy without making you feel cramped — there’s a sort of Scandinavian influence mixed with French charm that feels genuine rather than forced. The design philosophy extends throughout, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
What Makes It Work
The staff here really seem to get what travelers need, especially couples — and the feedback backs this up with that solid 8.5 rating overall. You know what I noticed? They pay attention to the small stuff that makes a difference when you’re exploring a new city. The neighborhood itself is residential enough to feel authentic but connected enough that you’re not struggling to find a decent restaurant or café when you want to grab something local. This balance between tranquility and accessibility is what sets this property apart from other accommodations in the area.
Why Guests Love It
Couples particularly seem drawn to this place, and after spending time here, I get it — there’s something about the intimate scale and personal touches that works well for romantic getaways. The fact that you can park for free and walk to most of Bordeaux’s main attractions means you’re not constantly thinking about logistics, which honestly makes any trip better. It’s one of those places where the concept could have been gimmicky, but instead feels like someone actually thought about what would make a stay memorable without trying too hard. The overall experience reflects genuine hospitality and thoughtful design.

Fabienne was a great host. Very quick in responding to questions and gave great recommendations to ensure a pleasant stay. Her welcoming homemade brioche with jam was delicious. Apartment is very well equipped and very clean. Had everything we needed for a comfortable stay for 6 people (even 2 guys sharing the sleeper couch was quite comfortable).

Excellent location only a few minutes walk to the tram. Our lovely host Fabienne had left us lovely fresh bread and a bottle of wine for when we arrived. She could not have been nicer plus was able to direct us to the best attractions. Bordeaux is a beautiful city and we look forward to our next trip again.
