Honestly, when I first walked up to this place on Cours de l’Intendance, I wasn’t sure what to expect – the street’s got that perfect mix of old Bordeaux elegance and actual city life happening. But this apartment really surprised me in the best way. You’re literally in the heart of everything here, I mean, you can practically roll out of bed and grab croissants from one of those little bakeries that locals actually use (not the touristy ones). The building itself has that classic Bordeaux limestone thing going on, and you know what? The apartment lives up to the beautiful street it sits on.

The space itself feels like someone who actually understands travel put it together – not some corporate designer who’s never stayed anywhere. There’s this lived-in comfort that you don’t get in most hotel rooms, plus you’ve got a proper kitchen if you want to hit up the Saturday market at Place des Capucins and cook something up. The windows are generous, which matters more than you’d think when you’re trying to figure out if it’s actually sunny enough to walk around without a jacket. I stayed here during shoulder season and honestly never felt cramped, even when the weather kept me inside for an afternoon. The 8.7 rating makes total sense – it’s not trying to be some over-the-top luxury experience, but everything just works the way it should.

What really sold me on this place though is how it sits in the neighborhood. You’ve got the Grand Théâtre literally around the corner (those evening performances end late, but the crowds are part of the charm), and if you walk five minutes toward the river, you hit all those wine bars that don’t bother with English menus because they don’t need to. The tram stops right there if you want to venture out to the wine regions, but honestly – and I say this as someone who usually needs to explore everything – you might find yourself just wandering the nearby streets more than you planned. There’s something about having your own little Bordeaux base that makes you feel less like a tourist checking boxes. Sure, you’ll hear some street noise during the day since you’re properly in the city center, but that’s the trade-off for being able to walk to dinner instead of figuring out transportation. It’s the kind of place that makes you start planning your next trip back before you’ve even packed to leave.

  It was very convenient to everything and beautifully decorated. The rooms were comfortable and nicely furnished. You got a feeling of the history of the space but with modern decor. It was bright and spacious with a nice kitchen. This place was the nicest of all our stays.

  A beautiful apartment on a fabulous street in the heart of Bordeaux. The apartment has two very comfortable double bedrooms and a large open plan living area and kitchen. It has been lovingly and tastefully decorated with lots of original features. The location is perfect for all of the sights and Bordeaux is a very beautiful city!

  This is an exceptional property in a beautiful city. All mod cons are included if required but the apartment still retains it's history. The architecture is simple stunning, in line with the city of Bordeaux itself. It's located in the nicest part of the city, close to excellent shops and lots of bars and restaurants. We loved being able to open the large windows and look out onto the busy shopping street. Trams run by making it easy to both get to the property and see the wider region if travelling by public transport. We used the tram, and buses, to see a lot of Bordeaux and trains to travel to Arcachon (well worth a visit) and Biarritz. The hosts Antoine and, especially, Carmen, were very helpful both before and when we got there. I cannot praise this apartment more and we really miss not being there.
  
  What could be improved: As others have mentioned, the apartment is on the 3rd floor. Not a problem for us but be aware that there's lots of stairs if you have mobility issues. We were happy because it gave us great views over the city and I wouldn't expect a property of this age to have a lift.

  It was roomy and really comfortable as well as being a really nice space. Amazing location in a car restricted area and the bedrooms are in the rear of the apartment so it was quiet.
  
  What could be improved: It was on the second floor (third floor US) which was nice for the view but if you have problems with stairs it may not be the best choice. We knew there were stairs so we were fine with it. Good exercise!
