Hotel Description
You know what? I almost walked right past Hôtel Particulier on Rue Eugène le Roy – it’s tucked into this quiet residential street near Gare St Jean, and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it perfect. The building itself has that understated Bordeaux elegance, sort of a cream-colored townhouse that doesn’t scream “tourist hotel” but rather whispers “I know what I’m doing.” When you’re wheeling your suitcase down from the train station (maybe a 7-minute walk, tops), you’ll appreciate that it’s just far enough from the main drag to feel peaceful but close enough that you’re not trekking forever with luggage.
The moment I stepped inside, there was this immediate sense of… well, it’s hard to describe, but it felt like staying at a particularly stylish friend’s place rather than a generic hotel. The lobby has these beautiful high ceilings – very typical for this part of Bordeaux – and the staff actually remembers your name after day one, which is rarer than you’d think. My room had this gorgeous view of the internal courtyard (request one if you can), and the morning light filtering through was just incredible. The beds are properly comfortable too – I mean, you know how hotel beds can be hit or miss, but this one actually had me sleeping in past my usual 7 AM. The bathrooms are modern without being sterile, with these lovely marble touches that feel luxurious but not overdone.
What really sold me on this place, though, was how perfectly positioned it is for exploring Bordeaux without feeling like you’re in the thick of tourist chaos. You’re literally minutes from the tram that’ll zip you straight to the historic center, but when you come back in the evening, you’re in this lovely quiet neighborhood where locals are walking their dogs and the only sounds are maybe some distant conversations from the little bistro around the corner. The staff gave me incredible restaurant recommendations too – places I never would have found otherwise, including this tiny wine bar on Rue des Remparts that became my nightly ritual. And speaking of wine, they have a small but thoughtful selection available if you want to grab a bottle and enjoy it in their courtyard area before heading out. The whole experience just felt… authentic, I guess? Like I was staying somewhere that actually cared about the experience rather than just processing guests. For a 4-star place, it punches well above its weight – that 9 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there.
To book a hotel in Bordeaux during the wine harvest season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts wine enthusiasts from around the world.

Very close to train station (5 minute walk). I was in ground apartment so no stairs (although be warned if not in ground apartment there is no elevator as is typical in Europe but just be mindful if travelling with heavy luggage. Beautiful accomodation, well equipped and friendly staff.

The host so lovely!! She was so sweet, even providing a bottle of wine as I was celebrating a birthday. The reception and room was easily the best decorated I’d ever stayed in! Kitchen was set up to cook if needed, shower was lovely, bedroom extremely comfortable and overall just a gorgeous little apartment to stay in. I’d recommend to anyone and I feel so lucky to have found it. Even the reception area was gorgeous. Really pretty and lovely hotel alone, but the hosts communication and attitude was there really made it!

This is truly an exceptional property. The proprieter Julien and assistant Louanne deliver quality hospitality. Communication is responded to without delay. There is kindness and care as to one's comfort, and there is sincerity when told should any assistance be required please don't hesitate to make contact. The property is conveniently located only a 5 minute walk from the Bordeaux Saint Jean train station. Trains and buses are located in front of the station to travel to the city centre, or if you enjoy walking it's an easy enough walk, 15 to 20 minutes, basically in a straight line. Whilst close to the station, the property is in a quiet residential area. My stay was in the ground floor apartment; it was very quiet, no noise from the street, the above apartments or guests accessing the main door to the building. The apartment has a well equipped kitchen, quality furnishings, lovely decor, wonderful lighting and great ambience. The shower room is delightfully huge along with a steady flow of hot water. There's supermarkets, restaurants and bakeries easily accessed just a few minutes walk. This is truly a gem, I'm so grateful for the stay.

This location was great for access to the train and transit (it was roughly a 5 minute walk to the Bordeaux St Jean train station) and a doable walk to the core of Bordeaux (20ish minutes). The apartment was impeccable. It was clean and spacious, the laundry machine worked great and the kitchenette was perfect for what we needed. This was the perfect place to relax and I wish we had booked a longer stay in Bordeaux
