Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Hôtel Madame? Walking up to this narrow building on Rue Bouffard, I honestly wasn’t expecting much – I mean, it’s tucked between these typical Bordeaux stone facades and you could easily miss it. But step inside and there’s this immediate sense that someone actually cared about the details here. The lobby’s got this warm, almost residential feel that makes you forget you’re in a 3-star place.
The location is genuinely fantastic, and I’m not just saying that because it’s “city center” – you’re literally a two-minute walk from Place du Parlement, which locals will tell you is where the real action happens for evening drinks. The tram runs right down Cours Victor Hugo (maybe a three-minute walk), so getting to the train station or out to the wine regions is actually painless. What I really appreciated was how quiet Rue Bouffard stays at night – you get all the benefits of being central without the street noise that plagues some of the hotels closer to the main squares. There’s a small parking situation if you’re driving, but honestly, once you’re here you won’t need the car much.
The rooms are… well, they’re what you’d expect from a boutique-style place that’s clearly been renovated thoughtfully but isn’t trying to be the Four Seasons. Mine had these lovely high ceilings that you get in old Bordeaux buildings, and the bathroom was surprisingly modern – good water pressure, which isn’t always a given in these historic properties. The staff genuinely seems to know the neighborhood; when I asked about dinner spots, they steered me away from the tourist traps on Rue Sainte-Catherine and toward this little bistro on Rue des Bahutiers that I never would’ve found otherwise. Check-in was smooth, no weird policies or hidden fees, and they actually remembered my name by the second day (rare these days, honestly). The 8.7 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not luxury, but it delivers exactly what it promises with a bit of personality thrown in. If you want to feel like you’re staying somewhere with character rather than just a place to sleep between wine tours, this works really well.
To book a hotel in Bordeaux during the wine harvest season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts wine enthusiasts from around the world.

The location is great, walking distance from the main attractions downtown and very convenient also for public transports. Staff is amazing, super helpful and always warm and welcoming. The bed was comfortable and there was a good storage space. I liked that they offered the also 1coffee and 1 water bottle each every day, it’s a small gesture that makes the difference.

The staff were extremely knowledgeable and wanted you to enjoy their city. Thay goes for the team on reception and security. We used lots of their tips on local restaurants and bars. There was a fully stocked fridge but also room for your own stuff. Very easy to find and loads to do on the doorstep
