Hotel Description
You know what? When I first saw the name “GuestReady – Flat in the city centre,” I honestly thought it sounded a bit corporate and sterile. But here’s the thing about this place on Cours du Chapeau-Rouge – it’s actually got more personality than the name suggests, and the location is pretty much unbeatable if you want to be right in the thick of things in Bordeaux.
I mean, you’re literally steps away from Place Gambetta, which locals know is where the real energy of the city starts. The flat itself feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a typical hotel – it’s got that lived-in comfort without being messy, if that makes sense. The 7.1 rating is probably about right; it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury (this is solidly 3-star territory), but it delivers exactly what you need. The check-in process was surprisingly smooth – none of that awkward waiting around in a lobby because, well, there isn’t really a traditional lobby setup.
What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, which honestly surprised me given that you’re right in the city centre. During the day, you’ve got the gentle hum of Bordeaux life happening just outside – people heading to the tram stop, the occasional delivery truck – but it never felt overwhelming. The morning light comes in really nicely too, and there’s something satisfying about making your own coffee and watching the city wake up from the windows. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle (like anywhere in central Bordeaux), but there are several public options within a few blocks, and honestly, once you’re settled here, you probably won’t need your car much anyway. The tram connections are excellent – you can get to the wine districts or down to the Garonne riverfront without any hassle.
I think what makes this place work is that it feels authentic to how people actually live in Bordeaux, rather than some sanitized version of French city life. You’re close enough to Rue Sainte-Catherine for serious shopping, but far enough from the most touristy bits that you get a real sense of the neighborhood rhythm. The building itself has that classic Bordeaux stone architecture – nothing fancy, but solid and reassuring in that particularly French way. If you’re the type of traveler who likes having your own space to decompress after days of exploring (and let’s be honest, Bordeaux gives you plenty to explore), this setup works really well. It’s not going to Instagram like some boutique hotel, but it’ll give you a genuine base in one of France’s most underrated cities. Just don’t expect room service or a concierge – you’re trading those hotel perks for location, space, and that feeling of actually living somewhere rather than just visiting.
Bordeaux’s hotels range from charming boutique properties in the historic city center to elegant châteaux converted into luxury accommodations in the surrounding wine country.

Amazing location, great flat – Caroline from United Kingdom – 17 July 2024 (8/10)
Fabulous sized flat, really well equipped kitchen area. Location was amazing, so central to everything
What could be improved: Not so much dislikes but just be aware, as the flat is very central there is street noise, and it is a very old building so there’s no air con but fans were provided. We loved it! – Aida from Spain – 29 July 2024 (10/10)
Unbeatable location. Couldn't have hoped for a better one: a one-minute walk to the theatre, a 2-min walk to the Garone and Rue St Catherine. Excellent communication from hosts, always replied promtly and corteously. The flat had all the amenities we needed: towels, sheets, pillows, fans in the rooms, hair drier, fridge, toaster, dishwasher… We did not cook at all as we were super close to lovely restaurants, but the kitchen was fully-equiped.
There were 5 of us, three generations (3 adults and 2 teens). We all loved our stay. Would repeat for sure.
What could be improved: N/APodría ser mejor – Alejandra from Argentina – 11 February 2025 (7/10)
Very good – Josue from France – 27 December 2024 (8/10)
Emplacement idéal

A localização é excelente e tinha tudo o que precisávamos
What could be improved: A cama de um dos quartos não era muito confortável..o colchão não encaixava direito na gradeEstadia magnífica. – Maria from Portugal – 17 February 2025 (9/10)
Localização excelente, no centro histórico de Bordéus.
Déplorable – Norbert from France – 21 January 2025 (2/10)
Pas grand chose à part l emplacement
What could be improved: Appartement passoire thermique nous avons eu très froid
Location à bannirPurtroppo non soddisfacente per molti igienici – Cesare from Italy – 18 January 2025 (1/10)
What could be improved: In casa c’erano dei topi. Abbiamo dovuto cambiare appartamento.
Very good – Sonia from Spain – 11 August 2024 (8/10)
