Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about this place? The name makes it sound way fancier than it actually is – and I mean that in the best possible way. Sure, it’s called “Grand studio style bordelais,” but honestly, it’s more like staying in a really well-done local apartment that someone’s grandmother would be proud of. The location on Rue de Lurbe is absolutely perfect though – you’re literally in the triangle d’or, which means you can stumble to Place Gambetta in about three minutes after too much wine at dinner.
The studio itself has this authentic Bordeaux charm that you just can’t fake. I’m talking about those gorgeous high ceilings and original moldings that make you feel like you’re actually living in the city, not just visiting it. The space is surprisingly well thought out for a studio – there’s actually room to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped, which is rare for European city centers. What really sold me was stepping onto that little balcony in the morning with coffee and watching the neighborhood come alive. You’ll hear the boulangerie opening downstairs (there’s always a boulangerie), people heading to work, that whole Bordeaux morning rhythm that tourists usually miss from their hotel rooms.
Parking is… well, it’s Bordeaux city center, so you know what you’re getting into. But honestly, once you’re here you won’t want to drive anyway. The tram stops are close enough that you can easily get to the wine districts or down to the Garonne without dealing with those narrow medieval streets. I actually loved being able to walk to Cours de l’Intendance for shopping, then cut through the backstreets to find those little wine bars that don’t even have signs. The rating of 8.9 makes total sense – it’s not trying to be a luxury hotel experience, but for what it is, it’s pretty much spot-on. The only thing I’d mention is that you might hear some street noise in the evenings, but that’s part of staying in a real neighborhood instead of some sanitized hotel district. Plus, the walls are thick enough that it never bothered me after about 10 PM when things quiet down.

Beliggenheden er perfekt når man er turist. Mange gode restauranter rundt om hjørnet. Sporvogn og busser. En dejlig fransk have, terrasse.
Naia from France (9/10)
