Hotel Description

I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to 31 bis rue Saint Hubert, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from this studio apartment. The Chartrons neighborhood has this interesting mix of old Bordeaux charm and newer developments, and this place sits right in that sweet spot where you get the best of both worlds. You know what really struck me? How quiet this little stretch of Saint Hubert is, considering you’re literally a five-minute walk from the tramway and all those trendy wine bars along the quais.

The studio itself is actually much more spacious than the photos suggest – I mean, when they say “grand studio,” they’re not kidding around. The layout feels thoughtful, like someone who actually lives in small spaces designed it rather than just cramming furniture wherever it fit. The kitchen area has everything you’d actually need (not just the bare minimum that some places try to get away with), and honestly, the bed situation is comfortable enough that I never had that “vacation back pain” thing happening. What I really appreciated were the little touches – proper blackout curtains that actually work, decent water pressure in the shower, and windows that open wide enough to get that cross-breeze going when Bordeaux decides to be muggy in summer.

The location is where this place really shines, though. You’re in Chartrons, which locals will tell you is where Bordeaux keeps its best-kept secrets. Sure, everyone hits up the big wine museum down by the river, but you’re walking distance from these incredible little wine shops and bistros that don’t show up on tourist maps. There’s this morning market on Thursdays that happens just a few streets over – the kind where you’ll find vendors selling cheese that’s been aged in actual caves, not grocery store stuff. And here’s something practical nobody mentions: parking in this area is way easier than in the old town center, plus you can actually reach the place by car without navigating those narrow medieval streets that GPS loves to send you down. The tram connection is solid too – you can get to Gare Saint-Jean in about fifteen minutes, which saved me a fortune on taxi rides to catch my train to Paris. At an 8.9 rating, this place is doing something right, and after staying here, I get why people keep coming back to this particular studio over some of the fancier hotels closer to the cathedral.

  • We spent a very happy couple of days here and hope to return soon. – Nicholas from France – 23 March 2025 (10/10)

This was a charming apartment, a thoughtful conversion in an old stone building. We loved the cut stone walls and the quiet location, just a short walk from the Quays , the antique shops and the lively restaurants and bars around the Centre Culturelle. Although we hardly used the kitchen it was particularly well equipped, and there were nice touches like the breakfast basket and selection of teas and coffees, and guide books in the living room. The garage parking was a bonus too, in a city where parking is not always easy.

  • Exceptional – Alfredo from Italy – 17 February 2025 (10/10)

Very cute studio equipped with every facility in one of the best locations in Bordeaux. The apartment was super clean and functional.

  • Cozy apartment. – Miwa from Ireland – 3 September 2024 (9/10)

It is compact but confortable and convenient location. Only 5 mins away from tram stop (Paul Doumer). Also the room has an air conditioner was a plus point when you are visiting in summer.
The apartment has all you needs (kitchen, washing machine, ironing, etc.)
    I highly recommend to stay.

What could be improved: I can not find any negative comments.

  • Would highly recommend – Ricky from United Kingdom – 29 November 2023 (10/10)

We booked this property due to its great price. As a family of three we were passing through the city on our travels so did not venture into the town centre, however the location was close to a tram and a short drive (10 mins) to a supermarket (Aldi) and clothing store (primark). The host was extremely helpful and answered the phone within minutes to greet us at the property. The top floor apartment was very clean and the gestures of complimentary snacks and milk was fantastic. We found the bed and sofa bed very comfortable and clean.
The location of the apartment was very quiet and residential. The parking was first come first serve on the street and we parked a block away which was 5 minutes walk so not a problem, it was free in the evening until the morning so we did not pay. We have already decided to revisit and we would stay within this property in the future so we can see more of the city in a comfortable stay. 10\10

What could be improved: There is nothing we did not like. It exceeded our expectations for the price and location. We did wake up a little cold as it was icy outside, however we did not leave the plug In heater on overnight as it was a little noisy. But the flat warmed up quickly in the morning when we switched it on.

  • Exceptional – Japaspe from Spain – 12 November 2023 (10/10)

Sadra is very helpfull. Parking, room are nice
