So you know those gorgeous Haussmann buildings you see in Paris postcards? Well, this place in Bordeaux has that exact same vibe – all high ceilings, ornate moldings, and those massive windows that make you feel like you’re living in a movie. I mean, the name is ridiculously long (Grand Appartement Haussmanien de Standing avec Jacuzzi Terrasse et Parking en Hyper Centre – seriously, they really went for it), but honestly? It delivers on every single word.

The location on Cours de la Somme is actually perfect if you know Bordeaux at all. You’re right in Nansouty Saint-Genes, which sounds fancy but it’s really just this lovely residential area that’s close enough to walk everywhere but far enough to escape the tourist crowds. I walked to Place de la Victoire in about fifteen minutes, and the tram stop is literally around the corner if you’re feeling lazy. What really surprised me was how quiet it gets at night – you’d think being in the city center would mean constant noise, but the courtyard setup really shields you from street sounds. The parking situation alone is worth mentioning because, well, anyone who’s tried to park in central Bordeaux knows it’s usually a nightmare. Having your own spot feels like winning the lottery.

But here’s what actually makes this place special – that terrace jacuzzi isn’t just some tiny hot tub shoved in a corner. It’s properly sized, the water stays hot (I may have tested this extensively), and sitting there in the evening with a glass of wine from one of the nearby caves… I mean, that’s the kind of moment you book trips for, you know? The apartment itself feels authentically French without being stuffy about it. The kitchen is actually functional – not just for show – which matters if you’re picking up ingredients from Marché des Capucins (about a ten-minute walk). The shower pressure is excellent, the bed is properly comfortable, and there’s enough space to spread out without tripping over your luggage every five minutes. Small thing, but the check-in process was refreshingly straightforward – no standing around hotel lobbies with crowds of tour groups. Just you, your key, and this beautiful space that feels more like borrowing a friend’s incredibly nice apartment than checking into generic accommodation.

  The property is very well located with a great patisserie, small supermarket and bistros and wine shops all close by. It is an easy walk into the city centre with bus stops right outside the apartment.
  The terrace is great for a morning coffee or an evening wine and the adjoining neighbour is very friendly.
  There is plenty of space in the living area and the high ceilings give an additional sense of space.
  There is access to secure parking that is close by , as well as the building, and apartment, being very secure.
  Michael is very friendly and informative, and is able to provide lots of suggestions for making the most of your stay. While we liked having a pet, be aware that looking after the cat is part of the deal! It is very easy to feel at home in this apartment.

  Michel met us at the property to show us around and give us the keys, he was very helpful regarding where to find restaurants, Boulanger etc along with things we may like to do during our stay. We were also briefed on looking after his lovely cat while we were there. He spoke very good English and answered any questions we had. Buses right outside the door, so easy to reach other areas of the city

  Short walk to the train station and city centre – with supermarkets, bus, and tram stops situated very nearby.

  It's an amazing apartment with a great location; close to the railway station as well as the city centre and restaurant district. It is very cosy and well equipped with all amenities. Michael is super host, very helpful, and easy to communicate. The check-in and out process is also very smooth. Truly recommended for bussiness or travel trips.

  This Apartment was BEAUTIFUL!!!! It had everything we needed to be able to use the Kitchen. The bedrooms were cozy and comfortable. The Patio was darling, the Location was EXCELLENT the decorations in the building were awesome and lots of great mugs for tea and coffee! The shower was very nice and clean. Overall I would stay here again and again! Great little restaurant just down the street too. Close to a wine shop! Bus stop right out side the building! Market on the corner.

  The apartment is conviniently located and accesibility is super convinient as there is a bus stop right outside d door.
  
  Rue Sainte Catherine is mere 1km from d apartment and on a beautiful day, it make our walk from the apartment a wonderful experience.
  
  Mini markets are located within 100 & 200 mtrs from the apt.
  
  The washer & dryer is a great addon to the apartment as I dont have to go to a publuc laundrete located on the same street.
  
  Nino, the host cat is a wonderful companion to us guest.
  
  p.s. there is also a Jacuzzi but we didnt get a chance to use it as theres a lot Bordeaux has to offer to a first time tourist.

  Michael is a very friendly host who gives you warm welcome at his home and takes the time to explain everything very well. He even gives good recommendations for what to do in the city and where to eat, he responds very quickly to requests during your stay. We loved the company of his cat Ninou and the very cosy terrace with hottub. The city center is at 20-30mins walking distance, but there is a supermarket and bakery close to the apartment.
