Hotel Description
Honestly, when I first walked up to EasyLodge on Rue Garat, I wasn’t expecting much – it’s tucked into this quiet residential street that most tourists never see, just a few blocks from the bustling Cours de l’Intendance. But you know what? That turned out to be exactly what made it work. The two-bedroom apartment setup is pretty straightforward, nothing fancy, but it’s got that lived-in feeling that makes you actually want to settle in for more than just a night.
The location is where this place really shines, though I mean, you have to know Bordeaux a bit to appreciate it. You’re maybe a ten-minute walk to Place Gambetta – and I’m talking a leisurely stroll, not power walking – which puts you right in the heart of everything without dealing with the late-night noise from the bars on Rue Sainte-Catherine. The morning routine here is actually pretty pleasant; there’s this little bakery around the corner on Rue Judaïque where the locals grab their morning coffee, and honestly, watching that daily ritual from the apartment windows gives you a real sense of the neighborhood rhythm. Parking can be a bit tricky (welcome to central Bordeaux), but there’s usually something on the side streets if you’re patient.
What I appreciated most was how the space felt genuine – the kitchen actually has proper cookware, not those sad hotel-style utensils, and the bedrooms are sized for real humans, not airline passengers. The 7.2 rating makes sense when you think about it; it’s not going to blow you away with luxury touches, but everything works, the wifi is solid, and the whole place has this unpretentious comfort that grows on you. The building itself has that classic Bordeaux stone facade, probably from the 1800s, with those tall windows that let in amazing light during the late afternoon – which, if you time it right, gives you this golden glow that makes even your terrible vacation photos look decent. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I was planning to explore beyond the tourist triangle and wanted a base that feels more like borrowing a friend’s place than checking into a hotel.

Great location, easily walkable from main train station, and then 15-20 min walk to commercial area and river. Appreciated the toiletry amenities and standing fans with the lack of central air. Stairs were not an issue, it's to be expected in these older buildings. Area is safe and on a main road.

Great location with a good local experience. Big living area and good shower. Very nice decor- love the living room chairs and the feel of relaxation when you open the windows to the street.
