So I ended up at this EasyLodge apartment on Rue Garat after my original Bordeaux plans fell through, and honestly? It turned out to be one of those happy accidents. The three-bedroom setup is perfect if you’re traveling with family or friends who actually want some space from each other – I mean, sharing hotel rooms gets old fast, you know? The street itself is pretty quiet for being so close to everything, though you’ll hear the occasional delivery truck in the mornings.

What I really appreciated was how the place sits right in that sweet spot where you can walk to the old town without dealing with all the tourist chaos on your doorstep. You’re maybe ten minutes from Place de la Bourse if you’re moving at a decent pace, and there’s this little bakery – Boulangerie des Capucins – just around the corner that locals actually use, not some overpriced tourist trap. The apartment itself feels lived-in rather than sterile, which I honestly prefer. Sure, the furniture isn’t going to win any design awards, and the shower pressure is… well, it’s adequate, let’s say that. But everything works, it’s clean, and there’s enough kitchen space to make proper coffee in the morning instead of relying on hotel packets.

The neighborhood really grows on you though. Rue Garat puts you close enough to the tram lines that getting around is actually simple – the A line stops nearby and connects you to pretty much anywhere you’d want to go. I spent most evenings walking down toward the Garonne, maybe grabbing dinner somewhere along Cours Victor Hugo. The apartment’s location means you’re experiencing Bordeaux more like someone who lives there rather than just passing through, if that makes sense. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle if you’re driving, but honestly that’s just Bordeaux for you. Overall, for the price point and the space you get, it’s a solid choice – especially if you want to feel settled rather than just crashing somewhere between sightseeing runs.

  Nice apartment, plenty of space for our group of 6. Walking distance to major tourist attractions, restaurants and shops. There is a grocery store half a block away.

  Die Unterkunft ist sehr zentral gelegen. Die Wohnung war modern und gut ausgestattet.  Wir hatten genug Platz, und es gab genügend Handtücher, Toilettenpapier und so weiter. Zudem war eine erste Grundausstattung im Kühlschrank vorhanden.
