Location & Neighborhood

Honestly, the location is pretty much perfect if you want to experience Bordeaux on foot. You’re a two-minute walk from Place de la Bourse with those famous reflecting pools, and the Garonne River is right there when you need that evening stroll. What I really appreciated was how you can duck into wine bars and bistros without any planning — they’re literally around every corner from Chez Emilien. The tram stops are close enough that you don’t think twice about hopping over to other districts, but far enough that you’re not dealing with constant street noise.

The Rooms

The rooms have this cozy, lived-in feel that works really well for couples — which explains why so many pairs end up here. Mine wasn’t huge (this is central Bordeaux, after all), but everything felt thoughtfully arranged. The bed was actually comfortable, and there’s decent storage space if you’re staying more than a night or two. What struck me most was the attention to small details — good lighting for reading, proper blackout curtains, and a bathroom that doesn’t make you feel like you’re in a shoebox.
