Hotel Description
I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Chez Camille on Cours de l’Argonne, I wasn’t expecting much from the outside. It’s tucked into this typical Bordeaux stone building that could house anything, really. But step inside and you immediately get why this place has a 9 rating. The lobby hits you with this perfect blend of contemporary design and that warm, lived-in feeling that makes you want to kick off your shoes.
What actually sets this aparthotel apart is how they’ve nailed the balance between hotel service and apartment freedom. Each unit feels like someone’s stylish Bordeaux pied-à-terre – you know, the kind of place a chic French person would actually live, not some sterile hotel interpretation of “Parisian style.” The kitchenettes are properly equipped (I mean, you can actually cook in them), and the bathrooms have this lovely marble that stays cool even during those sweltering August afternoons. The staff genuinely seems to care about getting you settled, which isn’t always a given with aparthotels. They’ll point you toward the little fromage shop on Rue Judaïque that locals actually use, not just the touristy stuff near Place de la Bourse.
Location-wise, you’re about a fifteen-minute stroll to the heart of things, but that’s actually perfect. You’re close enough to walk to dinner in Saint-Pierre or catch the tram to the wine districts, but far enough from the cruise ship crowds that you can sleep with your windows open. The Cours de l’Argonne itself is pretty quiet – mostly residential with a few cafés where you’ll hear more French than English, which I love. There’s decent parking nearby if you’re driving, though honestly, once you’re here you won’t need a car much. The building can get a bit echo-y in the stairwells (these old Bordeaux buildings all do), but the rooms themselves are surprisingly soundproof. I stayed during the wine festival in June and barely heard the revelry, even though half the city seemed to be celebrating outside. What really won me over was the attention to small things – proper coffee in the rooms, blackout curtains that actually work, and bed linens that feel expensive. It’s the kind of place where you find yourself planning your next Bordeaux trip before you’ve even checked out.

Reviews
Great location, responsive host. – Christine from United Kingdom – 20 May 2025 (8/10)
Location great, close to lively (student area) Place de la Victoire and yet quiet. Great shower and firm bed.
What could be improved: Loo downstairs, mezzanine bedroom upstairs which we didn’t pick up from reading the listing. WiFi was not working for the duration and also the aircon went into maintenance mode when we tried to use it! Outdoor area saw no sun.Very good – Carina from Germany – 22 June 2025 (8/10)
Spacious, bright room, very comfortable bed, nicely decorated. AC worked very well.
What could be improved: The floor in the studio was not proporli clean – maybe still construction related. The ameneties such as the little gym and the laundry room where still under construction (basically unfinished old basements) but already advertised. Also management sent out an e-mail asking for a ten-point review, which seems questionable.Pleasant – Moore from United Kingdom – 5 July 2025 (6/10)
Location was perfect
Comfortable bed
What could be improved: No parking available which was why chose it originally
Cost of 48 euros in public car park x ( was safe though)
Miscommunication when trying to access room
No instruction on cooker ( we are quite intelligent people but still couldn't get it to work )
No info on places to go and see or recommend ations to go eat it or drink xExcelente – Ana from Spain – 24 July 2025 (10/10)
Limpieza y trato excepcional. El apartamento es muy cómodo y tiene muchos detalles. Viajamos con una bebé y pese a que el dormitorio es pequeño, pudimos instalar la cuna portátil sin problema.
What could be improved: La lavadora está en zona común.
Incluiría secador de toallas.Exceptional – Benoit from France – 22 July 2025 (10/10)
